Erth
Belief in a dead/unconscious protective entity
History
Information about earth was lost when the Starliner was damaged, so the planet became a deity that had protected humanity until a disaster happened and he had to send them off in the starliner. After the starliner crashed, the story became that 'erth' sent them onto a flying ark to save them while their planet exploded into shards, but the explosion damaged the ark, which then crashed, and now they live on the shards.
