Originated by the sahuagin who worship the kraken as a god and slowly became a thing amount humans and others who dispise the creatures who inhabit the land.

Dedicated to the ruler of the waters. Bring a sacrafice of value to perform the ritual of weakening the seals of its prison.
Traditions
Sacrificing something of fire or virgins or land walking creature of power.
Drowning ones self and others to the point of almost death hoping to garner the power to breath water like the true races.
Flogging of the the back till blood spills and wading into the waves of the ocean and fending ones self against a shark or multiple ones. If you survive you are one of the chosen to breath the waters of life
