Black Kuvan is campaigning throughout the continent looking for recruits between the age of 7-30. Saying they will take care of, house, feed and support them should they decide to join.
Sarafin comes to the Island Kuvan to recruit people. She asks to meet with the leader, Da'Zik. She is immediately attracted to him but then he opens his mouth.
He insults her upon first meeting her - claiming he did not demand for the brothel to send anyone/he did not have the money to waste on her - he knows who she is and has an idea of her Kuvans true plans, although he doesn't know she is playing both sides. Because of this, he is angry and takes it out on her frustrated with his attraction to her.
He bullies her, she retaliates, however n o one is allowed to put her down in front of him - he blows up.
He has instructed his people to be polite and accommodating but not to entertain what they are saying.
Sarafin hates/respects the people for not buying into what she is saying.
He takes her around the island showing her places, learning more about her. He starts putting together that her outside persona doesn't fit who she really is.
Sarafin beings to relax around Da'Zik and her more nurturing personality comes out. It is hard for her to keep up her guard. She feels he is the only one who can understand/accept her.
He feels likes he must protect her, she sees through his tough exterior.
He learns what she does at her Kuvan and 'throws' her away, condemning her actions/her. He is heartbroken and she feels it's what she deserves and closes herself off from him.
Unbeknownst to them they have bonded.
