Seat of Power
A seat of power is defined as a location where the magical leylines of Inspera flow from the Stone of Destiny, where the land itself offers its seasonal power to a creature deemed worthy at the Stone of Destiny to wield. It is where these powers are strongest that the kingdom's throne is placed, thus dubbed the "Seat of Power". Only a creature of matching season can claim a seat of power and its responsibility of maintaining Inspera's season, protecting the flow of time.
It is simply impossible for anyone to take the seat of power for themselves without the passing of the current holder and being legitimized at the Stone of Destiny.
There is a seat of power corresponding with each of the seasons in each kingdom, located in the kingdom's capitol city. Typically, the creature who wields the seat of power is the same creature who rules as monarch, as most creatures tend not to argue with the decisions of the deities.
Often times a monarch is considered illegitimate if they haven't been recognized at the Stone of Destiny and wield the seasonal power given by the seat of power. There have been instances of rebellion or relinquishment of a royal position and churning of political power to replace the recognized monarch in power. These instances do not grant the new monarch the seasonal power given by the seat, as the gods and goddesses do not recognize the kingdom's political hierarchy as being of any importance to who is worthy of wielding the seat of power.
A seat of power is only viable within the extent of its season, meaning, one season has little to no business in another, and thus, little or no power during that season or locations that experience that season year round. Additionally, if the creature wielding the seat of power is displaced from their season or seasonal locale, their ability to wield the seat of power is also dwindled to nothing. It is in this way that the flow of time remains protected.
