High Fantasy/Steampunk/Magitek

Eons ago, before the Universe we know it as today was born, there existed two primal powers; Light and Dark. Eternally opposed to one another, yet unable to exist without each other, they drifted together through the cosmos for time uncountable. Try as they might, the two forces could not bring themselves to end the other's existence. The eternal battle for dominance had left them drained, tired, yearning for something more than this.

With a mutual agreement, Light and Dark melded their powers together to form the Universe in an event forever known as the Collision. Light gave birth to space and the stars, bright, colorful, and warm. Dark coiled space dust into comets, asteroids, and what would eventually become planets. Presiding over a new, veritable sandbox of opportunity Light and Dark settled their eternal feud and began their new lives as gods.

Standard physics are present unless specifically tampered with via magic or technological means.

Magic, like any form of academics, is broken up into several distinct types or "schools." The 3 most commonly acknowledged schools are Mancy, Enchantry, and Alchemy. After learning to cast a spell from a school of magic, you must focus and expend some of your body's natural magical energy, sometimes referred to as Mana or Magicka. Stronger spells require more focus and/or more Mana.

Technology is in a constant state of anachronism; motorized vehicles exist, yet long distance communication is preformed through magic or standard letter delivery. Firearms and explosives are as commonplace as swords and maces. Highly advanced technology, such as computers, are rare and typically owned by only the upper echelon of society.
