Alternate universe earth where humans evolved to be able to use magic.

In the Before Time (BT), mythical creatures roamed wild and free on the mainland until the first peoples sailed from the East. The first peoples settled on the mainland and created 4 nations- Rus, Astra, Mor, o' Sur. Civilizations advanced and had various small wars and treaties, including the Great War around year 1000 DT (During Time). The second great war, around 1943 DT, spurred the creation of the 7 Silvers, 7 magic objects with great powers. The war only got worse and a team led by a young woman stole and hid the 3 surviving objects. This caused the end of the war, and a society formed to try to track down the objects, as well as a cult following to find them. During the Carter Chronicles, the tension caused by the society and the cult has come to a head and the protagonist and her friends are seeking them out.

Magic is divided into 2 subsets- mages and elementals. Mages are able to harness the pure, raw magic. Elementals are further divided into Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Light, Dark, and hundreds of subsets.

Physics similar to Earth but can be slightly manipulated due to magic. Some animals seem to defy the laws of physics.

Because of their ability to move into Earth and back, they have some tech that is on par with Earth, but that is mostly restricted to the rich and upper class as well as public facilities. Most rural areas are still relatively primitive.
