Long ago a meteorite struck Brathem The meteor desplaied insane magic powers and was worshiped for centuries, but one day a powerful king that ruled the land that the meteorite was on split it into 12 stones, Light, Dark, Peace, Chaos, Power, Mind Plague, Antidote, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. He split the stones and his kingdom among his 12 sons and retired. Many years later the king realized that his sons were power hungry and set off to destroy the stones as he went from kingdom to kingdom destroying the stones word got around and the eldest 4 brothers (owners of the Light, Dark, Peace, and Chaos stones) teamed up to murder their father and hide away the last 4 stones. The destroyed stones shattered into thousands of shards called crystals. People soon figured out that the crystals can be used as smaller less powerful versions of their stones of origin and weaponized them.

Magic is drawn from the crystals, and power depends on the size of the crystal, the users knowledge and skill using that type of crystal and the crystal’s relative location when it was part of the stone (closer to the stones core can draw more powerful magic). The crystals can be implanted into all sorts of weapons and in extreme cases planted into the back of ones neck weaponizing the body itself with the crystals power (powers differ based on the stone the crystal originated from).

•Weapons (Swords, Bows, Staffs. No super modern weapons like guns.) imbedded with crystals have exponential power and versatility boosts based on the crystal linked to it.
•Harness Gemstones can use the power of a crystal or stone they are ritually bonded to (If crystal to big or valuable to carry around) but will only reach max power when close to the source of its power. (Basically a smaller/less valuable replacement for a crystal)

The laws of physics in Brathem are relatively the same as earth except for some minor exception having to do with crystal implants i.e. if a strong enough air crystal is implanted into someone they might gain the ability to fly or a power stone might increase ones strength beyond a human level.
