Bloodbanks are run by private vampire companies. Most of them run purely on blood donations, which there are a lot, but some companies get their blood from blood farms, where they keep humans and drain them of their blood as often as possible without killing them. Blood like this might be cheaper than donated blood.

Aliens have roamed the earth since the early 2030's when humankind finally managed to make contact with a travelin alien ship. Earth quickly became an exotic vacation destination for interstellar travelers and the biggest cities still remain that to this day.

Aliens from many different species and planets have moved on earth and to the surrounding space stations, in order to live in a diverse community.

Life on earth became almost unbearable in 2040 when the pollution and climate change became so big of a problem, that a third of the population moved to space stations and some moved to whole different solar systems.
The remaining humans on the planet started quickly thinking of ways how to still save the planet and with the help of some aliens, they came up with some industrial-sized air purifiers that started slowly but surely removing the pollution.
Most people still choose to wear masks while outside, especially in more densely populated areas and big metropolis areas, but in the more rural areas, the air is already breathable.

The ocean levels rose so much that many shorelines are now permanently modified and some cities, and even countries, drowned in the ocean. Some water-based aliens have taken these old city ruins to themselves and live in the oceans.
