Magic System

This universe follows the loose magic system of Flightrising. In order to use spells or special attacks, dragons must consume Breath, which acts as a dragon's physical and magical energy. Breath is a limited resource, but it is replenished upon rest.

Spells are drawn out by manipulating one's Breath. More proficient spellcasters find that they consume less Breath than the inexperienced.

Spells are considered out of a spellcaster's range when the spell consumes more Breath than the spellcaster has when rested. If a spellcaster tries to use a spell that is out of their range, it can produce an array of negative effects, including but not limited to:

  • Induced fatigue

  • Spell malfunctioning

  • Spell fizzling out (often the most desired result)

Dragons who consume Breath through physical means don't have to worry about most of these effects aside from fatigue.

Technology

The technology level of this universe is generally within the 1900s.

This universe may feature technologies that're actually more advanced than the 1900s, but the general rule is that nothing with a screen (such as a smart phone) exists.

Notes

Notes

  • In this universe, it's a personal headcanon that dragons mature faster than humans (as in, a dragon would go through childhood faster than a human does). Because of this, all draconic characters have a 'dragon equivalent' age. Example: Mira is the dragon equivalent of being a 11-12 year old human.

  • This universe ignores some canon in-game behaviors (such as Mirrors only operating in packs of their own)

  • This universe also ignores some in-site happenings (ex. while a dragon can have hundreds of children in their off-spring list, only some if any are considered canon characters)

Inspiration

The Ramshackle Sanctuary pulls inspiration directly and indirectly from the game Flightrising.
