Overview
Planet Airya
A planet just smaller than earth orbiting a common yellow main-phase star. Inhabited by Humans known as Hristians, Society on this planet is very similar to ours. Except Magic, melee, and gun combat exist all together. Aside form a heavy influence with magic, the inhabitants of Airya behave just like normal humans would.
History
Long ago, a bipedal species rose from the depths of nature's evolution and took a mind more powerful than anything else on the planet. There were but a few of them only found on a fairly isolated but large island north of all land masses. From this island, they developed rules, government, property, and the general ideals for a society. They came up with a language that is spoke all throughout Airya today, known as Hristian. (Same Idea as English). Their religion was mundane and practiced only by a few who had herd legends of a beautiful god from the sun coming down to observe the human creatures. The few that believed this worshiped "Jess", the sun god profusely and went as far as to build houses of worship for themselves.
One day, a brave soul discovered the concept of buoyancy by throwing a large log into a running river and watching it float down the way. Exited about this new concept, he went to show his mates. After some discussing, the small group of pioneers decided to see of they could fit things into what was the first concept of a raft. Much experimentation went into this "raft", finding what worked the best and what didn't. After some time, they came up with a makeshift wooden platform held together by fibers. This raft was what led to the discovery that the world was not, in fact, limited to only the island.
By the twisted hand of fate, the rafters became abandoned at sea by following too long and being spat out by the torrent of water flowing from inland. They couldn't swim back, the waters were too rough. So they sat and waited as the wind and water carried them away, away further and further. However, it wasn't long before a new, greener stretch of land came over the horizon. And a much larger stretch. The raft was carried to the shore of the new land, thus leading to the discovery of Galekin.
Back at the island, the inhabitants were worried about the fate of the rafters. So they made more rafts and sent them down with people the same way the others had come. Time passed, and eventually they made it to Galekin. Using this newfound land and it's resources, they made a more sturdy and powerful boat powered by man to alert the others of the land they had arrived on. Thus came the first sea travel line Airya had ever seen.
Many years passed by, and the new settlers found a brilliant home in the trees and mountains of this magnificent land. As population grew, so did the civilization. Towns rose up here and there to give birth to the first colony of people, found in the northern part of Galekin. A leader was established to keep watch over this prosperous community. Tuliok, the first recorded leader in the planet of Airya, came to power. It was at this time history began to be recorded with the first writings discovered detailing the life a young servant of Tuliok.
This prosper didn't last long, though. A strange natural phenomena swept over the community, bringing a strange cold to the land. Snow and ice raided the land, destroying farms and other precious locations. Nobody can explain this, not even to this day.
After that, they moved out, finding a desert not far off. how strange to see a hot land desolated by sand, with hardly any life. and to think a snow came from here? After much wandering, even past the desert, the remaining survivors settled in a town still active today: Silvercliff. It was in this very town that the next discover shook the entire world and what it would become. Magic was discovered by the worshipers of Jess.
Skipping way, way ahead when the rest of Airya was being settled and discovered, an event took place over the course of a month that influenced the entire world - The great war in Galekin. This was the birth of the acceptance of magic around the world and the newly established Year system.
There is still much to discuss, but for now, this is the most important of the events to shape Airya.
Rules
Laws of physics apply the same to our world unless influenced my mystic energies.
While highly advanced, the people of Airya tend to stay more towards the Medieval style of building and combat, with the exception of magic. Boasting things like Hovercrafts and advanced military tech, it's not uncommon to find a castle or 2 built around brick walls and wood support.
Magic comes from the birth of the universe, when a rupture created what is known as "Aura". The Aura contains basic and compound elements in mystic form. Humans can alter this using their Mana, witch they have learned to control over time. Using their mana, they cam manipulate the Aura from mystic form to Physical, allowing spells to be cast. Magic Knowledge is gained through the study of Thaumaturgy by piecing together knowledge of the Aura into patterns that formate a possible spell. If too much magical knowledge is acquired at one time, Insanity may result form accumulated Warp, a mystical energy Created by the gods of magic. The use of aura must be regulated, as too much use may result in Flux, a physical manifestation of Magic. This can corrupt nature and land to something called Taint.
