Overview
Meridian (Tetra)
A version of earth called Meridian, on which our story takes place.
This earth is ruled by a class/caste system.
Almost everyone of lower class is named for their profession.
Higher classes like Royals, Dukes, and Lords have original, chosen names which they go by. As do royals such as Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses.
Kings and Queens and members of the royal family not only have original names, but otherworldly powers which is why they are exalted in this society. There are people who do not agree with this system and seek reform. Across the world and continents there have been hundreds of revolts, but only one has ever been successful. That was 60 years ago in the country of Arum. The royal family was ousted and exiled.
But their heritage, their celestial blood and abilities remained unchanged and potent. Eventually, they merged back into society, and, through marriage, their names were changed and their history forgotten by all but them.
Formerly known as the Arums, for which their country was named, the Shepherds birthed many a powerful offspring in secret, but none were so special amongst even the celestials as a boy named Virgil. And even he would pale in comparison to his progeny, a talented pyro-kinetic named Callida. This is the story of her and her friends and their journey to find themselves and ultimately save the world.
Fantasy/Sci-Fi
History
The Nogi system is constituted of Earth [ ]
Rules
The world is much like our world from the 18th century in terms of readily available technology, but with sprinkles of the 21st in terms of clothing.
There is little mobility tech in the Nogi System, at least on earth. Most people rely on animals to get around. Entities like royals have been gifted with extra human abilities like increased speed, strength, and stamina, in addition to their God-blessed powers, some of which allow them to cross vast distances in a very short amount of time.
There are no automatic weapons. Each land generally specializes in a specific weapon-type, with all lands training their armies in the art of swordsmanship.
The laws of physics in The Nogi System mirror those of the real world.
Magic has been outlawed for millennia. Magic peoples have long since been extinct. It is a lost art.
There are legends of libraries filled to the brim with old tomes and scrolls, but they have disappeared and even if found, only the The Fae and The Brew would even be able to read and utilize such works.
The energy closest to magic is celestial energy and the people who wield it are called 'Celestials' and their abilities 'Godhands.' Only a handful of people on earth have access to this power. Most of them are royals, members of the ruling class.
