History

Over 500 years ago, the world was a different place, a place only able to be described in fantasy. A great man emerged from the Suviac deserts, and rallied the people together to end the war between the Riten and the Suve. He established a new kingdom, Su-Riteniai. He mastered medicine and magics with the already established laws of their nature, the energy of Natura, which flowed through all things, and which humans could use to manipulate the physical world around them. He conquered the lands of the old world, now referred to as the continents of Alumduah and Adaeyang, burning librarys and archives, disrupting trade routes and crippling the politics of the people, so without unity they would join his kingdom. Trade was strong, and Su-Riteniai was the heart of the world, from which merchants and goods pulsed throughout the limbs of the old world. The great king, not yet satisfied with his power, saw threat of the vagabond people of the east, the Jyotii'nameh . Their understanding of Natura alchemy rivaled his own, and he captured them, wishing to understand their secrets. The Jyoti people uprose, protesting to free their companions, a naturally pacifist people- but in response, the great king captured them all, and they became of his servitude. He elected a servant of the Jyoti, the greatest Alchemist, to stand by his side, to help him create war weapons as the east rebelled against his rule.

Under his orders, together they made his first and only son the vessel for great power, yet his body deteriorated from the stress, and he perished. His wife and queen, secretly with child, grieved and fled with the help of a servant man, not wanting her next child to suffer the same fate. The king thought she was unfaithful and cursed her, and all the children that come from her womb, unknowing it was his bloodline he had cursed. Soon, the king discovered the secret to immortality, experimenting on the Jyoti servants and prisoners of war. A substance derived from the death caused by the extraction of Natura. Condensed and consolidated into a golden liquid, Ambrosia. He vowed to attempt his super human creation again, and additionally, discovered a great project his
Jyoti Alchemist was creating in secret, three Amulets of silver, infused with the essence of life and memory itself, making one nearly invisible at the cost of nothing. He craved its power for his war with the east, but the Alchemist refused, and attempted to flee. He pierced her with his sword, but her Natura, which allowed her to teleport, carried her to a safe place, with her Amulets and the kings great sword still embedded in her body, and she passed. Enraged the king treated his vagabond servants harsher, and began deriving his people of their Natura, to be stored and used for the creation of his greatest weapon to destroy and conquer the east. All people of his kingdom, all throughout Su-Riteniai , Mabu , Espayca Islands did not have the ability to wield Natura anymore, and most importantly, their children did not either. For years the king ruled, accumulating ambrosia, Natura, and madness.

A rebellion stirred among the people, although now without Natura, in droves they rallied behind their leader. They stormed the palace, and the king with his research and the tomes of history he had created, fled with his mages.
The leader of the revolution was crowned the new king of Su-Riteniai, and the people burned and destroyed all remains of the old kings rule, and established their new king as the one who made this great kingdom, and without the use of Natura. The people found strength in their newfound without, and the old world prized the new form of humanity. Within less than two generations, the people forgot they ever had such an ability, and anything that suggested otherwise, a myth of the old kingdom.

The king, cast from his throne, sailed north to a new world, known today as Asiq, which also had humans who could wield Natura. Not wanting to rule, he took their Natura for his research, bit by bit, forcefully or willingly, and slower than the old world, the people of the new world were also the new human, forgetting within four generations.

He established a place of research in the northern Tundra, isolated from the world. The new humans he watched from a distance, they were a peaceful one, war was less devastating. He thought of himself of having done a good thing, and vowed to keep the power of Natura and use it to benefit the new humans, all while never leaving his control.
Without natura, humanity swiftly evolved from spirituality, to industrial and innovative. The fallen king had not yet realized that the Amulets his Alchemist had created were still in tact, and worse, contained the ability to revive a humans ability to wield Natura, and her people, the Jyoti, did not totally forget the old world, and were still sensitive to the Natura in the world around them. He feared for the revival of the old world, one wrought by war, and wandered the world, seeking to capture the Amulets and Relics the Jyoti people protected and dispersed. Be never could capture the Amulets, but would capture the Jyoti, and those who had been transformed into Old Humans, or, as they began to be known by, Obscurities or Myths. He took their Natura to keep the fragile balance of the new world in check.
His followers had grown, and most had forgotten their original purpose throughout the generations, and they established a country in the Tundras caverns alongside the Natives, although he was now no longer interested in ruling. It grew, and soon was known as Nevern. The old king, now a scientist, kept his vow, and made creations with the Natura that benefitted the new world.
