Universe of Fyroess
Fantasy.
This universe has 5 separate kingdoms, plus Eengloh, that are supported by the branches of a giant tree. Just roll with it.
History
The universe started with Fyroess. She created the world, along with two rules for herself: 1.) She would never turn against her world. And 2.) She would never get bored with her world. She made it so even she could not break those two rules. Sometimes, Fyroess creates worlds intentionally, while she is awake. These worlds all degenerate naturally eventually, going through their apocalypses and crumbling one after another, like clockwork. The sun sets on that particular world, and Fyroess sleeps as the world collapses into ruins. Her dreams form new worlds, worlds that she can’t quite tell if they’re real or not. These dream worlds usually end suddenly, when Fyroess becomes aware of the fact that she’s dreaming. This awareness can either trigger a lucid dream, where she becomes fully involved in the world, or wake her up, destroying the world. When she wakes up, she creates a new waking world, often taking on a new persona, creating new countries and cultures. She tries to hide the ruins from past eras. This rising and setting process continues for infinity, thanks to the 2 rules, known only to a select few. Some eras have large amounts of technology, some large amounts of magic. Some neither. Sometimes Fyroess sleeps through an entire era, and sometimes she walks the earth as a normal human. All that stayed consistent was the existence of Fyroess and her 2 rules. One era, there was a very powerful mage. When she died, her soul became a seed planted in the void, and soon grew into a tree that fractured the world into five kingdoms, plus the tree’s core. Every time a mage dies, if they are good, their soul is added to the tree, growing new twigs and branches. The original mage is aware that she holds up the five kingdoms, and is proud of it. Despite being dead, she still retains complete consciousness and awareness, as well as human flaws. Most importantly, she gets tired, lonely, and sometimes wishes she could simply cease to exist. However, her work, while exhausting is very important. If she were to decide to will herself out of existence, the entire tree, formed from her, would collapse, letting the worlds fall into the void and out of existence along with her. All the while, Fyroess slept. One of the mages who also made up the tree noticed her sadness. Retreating to her favorite place, she prepared her will to do the deed. As she was about to do it, she heard a soft voice call out to her, comforting her. It was that mage. Surprised by his kindness and soothed by his words, she broke down, realizing that she couldn’t do it. To this day, she holds up the world, and he holds up her.
Rules
In the current era, there are heat, water, and air mages. Magic is also imbued into the world itself and some flora and fauna. For humans, magic is hereditary, although it sometimes skips several generations. Magic cannot enter a human body, and cannot get near strong willed individuals. The stronger your will, the bigger your ‘bubble’ of sorts that magic cannot enter is. Anything extremely powerful requires enormous skill and hard work to perfect, and few are even physically capable of that kind of magic (i.e. changing air pressure, heating up air around someone to melt their skin off, moving water particles in the air to force someone into making certain movements, etc.).
Technology ranges from Middle Ages to renaissance, depending on what field and what kingdom. For example, Alfia has much more advanced technology than Etaarem. There are several works of technology that work the same as a 21st century device, thanks to magic (I.e. air mage carbonating juice, dragon aided postal service delivering at least as fast as current 1st class mail system).
In the current era, practically the same as our world, besides the whole tree floating in nothingness holding up 5 worlds in it’s branches (but the tree is actually a girl). Also, there’s elemental magic that mostly operates on a willpower based system. There can also be random little flukes in the laws due to the fact that the entire universe is just the dream of Fyroess, but I don’t plan to use that in the book, because that’s just cheating.
