Grey Raiders' Universe
High-fantasy. I was thinking of Middle-Earth when I created this.
Fantasy
History
Let's think of the multiverse. A universe for every possibility - yes, even every single fantasy idea floating around - every single sci-fi and paranormal and alternate universe.
Let's say that this is one of them.
Let's say that this a star fell onto this planet. A single, glowing star, a burning chunk of spacerock.
A man found it, broken into three pieces. His name was Maeroth, and he was a blacksmith. With two of the pieces, he forged a pair of deadly, glowing swords.
The third, he imbued with technological power - light, and dark.
He gave the swords to two close friends, Alderan and Aegar, friends from a young age. They were to safeguard the Star with their lives and the swords.
And - Alderan grew power hungry. He attempted to steal the Star, but Aegar wrestled Alderan's sword away from him and struck him down with it. To this day, the blade is called Alderan's Bane.
Maeroth hid the Star then, leaving a trail of messages to follow for whoever had the key - messages that would never disappear no matter what. His daughter, Aura, along with Aegar, were the only ones who knew this key, passing it down secretly through generations, where it eventually came to Marina Arkenson, also known as Sea.
And what of Alderan? Did he die?
No.
In the end, he was rescued by a nomadic tribe of people who took him in without knowing his story. He plotted vengeance silently for years while living with them, even marrying into them and having children - children of the first light and dark. He had been with the Star for so long that he'd almost received its power.
Nobody knew what to make of them at first, hiding them and panicking.
Yvonne Roegnson is descended from him, although not a powered.
A similar situation played out with Aegar out in the world, but he awkwardly explained it, and soon they were accepted and prized over the generations, setting up a council to govern - very democratic in the end.
The children of Alderan (who never got his revenge yEET) claimed their spot there. And it was all perfectly fine for a long time, really - the legends of Maeroth passing from generations onward.
Until another power-hungry Councilmember attempts to search for the Star, dying in the process (lol). The world erupts into wars, light against dark (!) and randoms taking each side.
For four years, they fight unceasingly.
Until a tenebrae boy proposes a wild, terrible idea to a lux girl.
griseo.
Note to self: well hecc maybe create motives//make some things clearer LOL
Rules
This is stereotypical fantasy. However, Peony is insanely amazing and like, literally figures out what a gun is. Be amazed.
So!
Dark x Light.
Some are dark, some are light, but those are rare and prized. All children are born with a birthmark on one of their hands, left being light and right being dark, but only some can actually manipulate light & dark (which then always comes out of the hand the birthmark is on)
This isn't even magic, because science lol
xx
and then, for those not born with the powers, they're endowed with other talents. Sea is a fine example of a sword fighter, and so is Sam. Len and V both have animal powers. Bess is an archer who rarely misses. Peony has high science-y skills. So yeaahhh. (No, didn't include a healer in their eight. Idk why hehe)
Notes
- Kira, aeterna
- Sea, sword fighter
- Jigs, tenebrae
- Yvonne, equines
- Sam, sword fighter
- Peony, tech
- Len, birds!
