The mind reader can do something a little like telepathy. He/she doesn't know all languages, but can sort of through telepathy know what they are saying no matter what is speaking.

interesting, that's actually neat. I had a character similar to that but im so burtn out on it. telepathic abilities are so hard to implement for me.

VERY GOOD. Like, their channel is actually labeled educational and I still love it. Red has a series on writing that is AMAZING. I drop everything whenever a new Trope Talk comes out.

Ooh I guess I should mention what kind of powers my characters have. I have 3 stories going on, and most of them involve powers of some kind in some capacity.
In my main project each of the main characters have different powers. In this world people often (but not always) develop powers around their preteen- early teen years. The four main characters' powers are flight, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and mind reading. Some other powers that some of the side characters have are invisibility, aerokinesis, speaking to animals, projecting illusions, memory manipulation, intangibility. There's a lot of other documented abilities, but those are just some that are mentioned in the story.
My second project takes place in modern day Canada, but the main character as well as two side characters all have the mind reading and telekinesis. The story starts out with the murder of one of the MCs classmates and it later comes to light that she also had these same powers. The story is basically the characters trying to connect the dots between the murder and their abilities. I'm not really sure how it's all going to play out yet though, but they all got their powers through some kind of experiment.
In my third story there's three types of powers that exist in the universe where it's set. The story focusses around the rarest type: the Magic Keepers. They're basically just people who can use magic but I'm still trying to set limitations on what they can and can't do (I've had this concept going since I was like 12, and originally the only thing they couldn't do was bring people back from the dead but I think that makes them too OP and I don't want that). But there's only 10 Magic Keepers; two from each nation. One to use their powers to protect their respective kingdom, and a younger one that acts as an apprentice.
The second rarest are called Seekers. Their power is being able to separate their soul from their physical body, so it's basically astral projection but in this universe it's not something that can be learned it's a gift that you either have or don't have. A skilled Seeker can also be completely lucid in their physical body while their soul has separated, which basically allows them to be in two places at once. The one big limitation to their power is that their soul cannot interact with anything or anyone while it travels outside the body.
Third and most common are the Dreamers. Dreamers can not only lucid dream, but can appear in other people's dreams willingly. Mostly, this entails Dreamers getting together with other Dreamers to get caught up on things but a Dreamer can also appear in a non-Dreamer's dream. There's a lot of etiquette and politics that goes on with Dreamers so they often keep their abilities secret.
Shoutout to anyone who actually read all of that. I just really like to talk about my stories.
