What type of apocalypse?

Hi!, I was thinking a sort of ‘The Quiet Place’ type thing (have you watched the trailer?), what do you have in mind?

i haven't seen that actually, maybe instead of a real Apocalypse a "best of the best" can stay alive type of thing?

I held out my finger to the id machine. I winced, I hated blood, but it was a necessary step to the tests. I was born on testing day, so I never had a good birthday. About a hundred years ago in 2020, there was a famine, and America had started to weed out the "unhealthy" or "un-usefull " (how do you spell it?) people. They closed off from the rest of the world almost entirely. Started sustaining themselves off their own land and people. And that is what the tests were for. They were a huge empire by now but had grown selfish and continued their earlier ways.

Joe pulled up her ratty overalls and held out her finger once the girl before her had passed. It took her blood and sucked on her finger to stop the bleeding.

"Hello Sir." I went up to one of the desks. He handed me my information sheet to fill out and a name badge.

Joe eyed the girl in front of her. Pretty. She dropped her eyes and took her credential sheet.

I took as long as possible filling out my sheet. I looked up and saw someone looking at me, I dropped my gaze.

Elody shuddered as she stepped away from the machine, nerves over taking her as she mentally prepared herself for Anouncment Day tomorrow, when the unuseful people would be held at a challenge, a public execution of sorts.

Joe hated these stupid sheets and only filled out what was absolutely necessary

She handed it to the guard and began walking home

"Here." She handed the guard the sheet and caught up with Elody.
