Moxiey was gliding through the current when a dark shadow fell over her. She looked up, afraid, then brightened again when she realized it was a human ship. "Yes!" she hissed happily, swimming towards it.
Maddox swam after his sister silently, gliding through the water with ease. He spotted the human ship and knew it would be a bad idea to approach it, but he was intrigued and Moxiey had already began swimming up. He figured he might as well follow her.
The small mermaid pushed herself up and onto a ledge in ship so she could watch the humans, mainly men, talk and shout. She found that very few women traveled by these kind of boats. They must go other ways, Moxiey though decidedly.
Maddox stayed in the water, but looked up at Moxiey from where he was. He had a vague sense of dread gnawing at the pit of his stomach, feeling that this would end poorly if they didn't leave soon.
One of the men, who looked about 16 or 17, caught Moxiey's eye. She watched him dreamily.
Maddox pulled Moxiey down out of sight. "Careful!" He whispered. "We cannot be seen."
Moxiey gasped in surprise. "Maddox!"
"We'll be killed if we are captured." He said quietly, looking up at the boat warily. "We must not be seen."

Appearance: Light skin, bright orange eyes, and sunset-colored hair. His tail is light blue, as are his fins, which fade into white. He has ear-fins of the same coloring, and freckles across his nose.
Personality: Generally very cheery, though shy around strangers, and likes to try and make friends. He likes to make gifts for people, just because, and sometimes leaves nice stuff on the shoreline for humans to find, despite his father's disapproval.
Part of a family?: His father, mother-like figure, and his dolphin companion (I guess?)
Other: He's friends with two sirens that live deep in underwater caves. (I can change if sirens aren't in this)

Maddox nodded. "I wasn't attempting to be secretive. I apologize."
(Oh yeah Maddox is very formal and a bit eerie)
Moxiey shook her head and peeked up again. To, he was still there. She sighed absently.
"Be careful…" Maddox still remained in the water to avoid being seen. If the humans attempted to take Moxiey, however, he would do everything in his power to stop them.
"I know," she retorted, unable to take her eyes off of the boy.
