@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Aaaaaand final update: I finished ze thing

I didn't know what to put for a background because this wasn't supposed to be a finished drawing so I added some splatters here and there and threw a canvas texture over it

Also, I came to the realization today that I have never, ever, in my 3+ years of doodling, drawn bare feet in a realistic art style…
Which is why I gave up, and why they look somewhat awful

Besides that though, I'm really happy with how this turned out!

@ravens

that's gorgeous!!!

I need help
I feel like whenever I do night landscapes they're too dark so ignoring the strange badly drawn creature in the middle, do you think I should lighten it up a bit or maybe add more contrast?

Here's a version without the strange badly drawn creature

Also, I think I need to show more of a difference between the foreground rock and the platform it's standing on but I'm not quite sure what to do about it. Any and all advice will be helpful (i'm also still working on the background)

@ninja_violinist

Hey, that already looks really good! But you're right that it lacks a bit of contrast - it comes out really nicely on my large screen but it is rather dark on my phone.
Would there be any moonlight or ambient light around the rocks? Having a light source that you can then build up with reference images (try a Google search of "cliff at night" or "cliff by moonlight" or something like that) might help. Even if it's offscreen, it would cast some more intense highlights and shadows around the rocks, which would also help with the foreground/midground issue.
I notice you've already added a gradient in the sky, which is really helpful - would it make sense to make that a bit more intense? I tried to find some reference for the sort of sky you're going for (the most helpful ones came up after searching "amateur night photography", if that's useful) and they tend to have a bit more contrast, I think. This site has some really cool references that might be helpful!

@Periwinkle_

You should use overlay to make the subject darker and more shadowy so it’ll blend in, because night time is pretty dark
