Mamaliga doesn't look appetizing to me.
Nor does "impletata". However, I am well aware that sometimes even the most unappetizing looking dish can taste amazing.
I was watching something on TV a long time ago where a team of paranormal investigators went to the castle that Stoker based Dracula's castle off of, and the people out there really are a superstitious lot.
Something tells me that that crucifix is going to come in handy later on in the story; gotta love a good macguffin!

Stone King is, obviously. I look at it sometimes. When you read Oz, do Rinkitink in Oz first. It’s my favorite.
(Oof…. I am remembering why I stopped reading this the first time that I tried to read it. I don't mean to offend any Dracula fans, but it's… boring. I'm gonna tough it out though! Might start reading something else on my list since I often read more than one book at a time.)

A bunch of howling dogs reminds me of that moment where all the dogs howl in either 101 Dalmatians or 102 Dalmatians (the ones with Glenn Close playing Cruella de Vil). I don't recall which one it was, nor if I'm remembering correctly as I haven't watched either of them in more than a decade!

Okay, not going to lie…. If I were encircled by a pack of howling wolves I would've crapped myself with terror. If I were Harker I would've climbed to the front and forced those horses to move.
I have finally finished reading the first chapter…. I usually read at a much quicker pace than this. I shall (hopefully) read more tomorrow.
