It is the latter definition being used here.

What's wrong with a pink bedroom? Apparently the author is one of those stereotypical "manly-man" believers. That or Jacob is. So far we've had "men don't cry" and "pink is for girls." Both stereotypes that I don't agree with!

What the? That conversation made me uncomfortable. Aunt Carolyn comes off as a racist and Uncle John comes off as sexist, but I'm guessing that something else is up and that there's context missing.

That's quite mysterious.

Dracula Chapter 5

Started off reading someone's journal, and now I'm reading a letter…. I know that it's a fictional story and how the story is being presented, but I'm not comfortable doing this; it feels like an evasion of privacy and is against my morals….

Jumping back to May now.

Well, Mina apparently has a good job.

My first impressions of Mina are that she's very practical-minded, dutiful, and loving and caring to those in her life.

Ooooo, "a tall, handsome, curly-haired man???"

That sounds romantic.

Lucy, you just admitted to taking Mr. Holmwood, the tall, handsome, curly-haired man home to meet "Mamma." You can't tell me that he isn't at least a possible suitor.

Unable to be upset or excited; calm

Lucy has two fine lads to choose from!

Arthur? Is he the doctor, or Mr. Holmwood? Either way, being on a first-name basis in this time period is quite personal!

Lucy is quite enthusiastic, and clearly has a sister-like bond with Mina.

Three proposals! How many men were you seeing at the same time, Lucy? Did you give the guys you wanted to keep around roses?

Men like women, certainly their wives, to be quite as fair as they are. And women, I am afraid, are not always quite as fair as they should be.

This line…. It goes both ways, my dear.

I can sympathize with Dr. John Seward; rejection always hurts, no matter how much "sugar coating" is put on it.

I can also sympathize with Lucy, for I have had to unfortunately break someone's heart before. It isn't fun, even more so when you're on the other end.

Does the "P" stand for Patrick?

So far all I know about him is that he's a well traveled, well educated, polite Texan that uses slang terms, and that he's proposed to Lucy.

I… don't know what to say right now.
