"There!"
Aléros pointed across the horizon.
"They are on a boat….or an island about four leagues that way. Very powerful, but the details are difficult to tell from such a distance."
A second Character Chat? Why the hell not!
Slowly, Eli began putting his hands out, as if pushing a heavy object from his body. He even began to lean into this invisible object, creating a very odd sight. "Any way we can…get 'em?" He siad, grunting in between 'can' and 'get.'
Hyenros frowned, "We can try."
"Like I said, he has no clue. Drag his ass here when you get him, by the way."
Hyenros frowned again, "We will try."
They linked hands again, eyes closed on concentration
His eyes suddenly snapped open. "It's a trap! Stop!"
Hyenros shook his head and opened his eyes, blowing his brother sharply in the abdomen
It was too late. Eli suddenly fell forward, the invisible wall gone. "Shit, he knows where we are. We gotta go."
Aléros cursed under his breath.
"Who is he to you?" Hyenros asked.
He sighed. "A few weeks ago, Tessie ventured into a camp infested with demons and never came back out. I went in there and wrecked shop, grabbing her and hauling ass be fore he could find us. Well, he found us a few days ago. It took 15 magic wielders to even make him flinch. The only reason why we won is because of the ability I have to absorb energy and send it back. They all sent magic my way and I sent it at him, which made him scared for one singular moment. He's after my blood now."
"Can I touch you?" Hyenros asked.
"It makes looking at your abilities easier." Aléros explained
He nodded, offering his hand.

A disembodied male laugh echoed off the ocean waves. "Oh, little boy. How smart you are. I'm going to tear your skin from your flesh, pick each bone from your body, savor your screams and drink your blood. I'm going to use you to bring that wretched girl down once and for all." He laughed again, delighted with his thoughts. "Oh, the Vanguard will be crippled, devoid of their precious leader! It would be quite pathetic, really. I almost feel bad for them."
"Yet you couldn't break into my mind," he said, putting on a brave face. "How do you explain that?"
Aléros cursed again while Hyenros touched his fingertips to one of Runner's hands.
"You are powerful"
"I can't produce my own magic. I can only take it from my surroundings. I shouldn't have any magical presence."

"Oh, I don't need to. It was simply a diversion of your attention." He laughed again. Behind them, hisses and scraping claws could be heard.
"And how do you plan on using me, if your victory is so certain?" he asked, slowly turning around.
"It's not just a presence." Hyenros stated, flexing his fingers and grasping onto his brother's hand again. This time, little tendrils of gold can be seen shooting out of their fingertips

"Like I said. You're the bait"
Monstrous demons of all sorts of shapes and sizes and horrifyingness gazed down at the group from the tree tops. They began dropping down, trapping them at the shore.
"And your friends here are simply snacks for my little minions to fight over."
"You're barking up the wrong tree," he said with a bitter smile. "I'm a forgotten commodity at this point."

"Oh? Then explain why the five children of the Oracle and Creator are headed this way as we speak?"
The demons hissed and spat, pacing the area and waiting for the order to strike.
He tilted his head. "To keep your asses from getting blown up, just like last time you tested me."
The twins held out their hands, golden tendrils shooting from their joined fingertips and forming a protective cage around the trio.
"None of those-" their lips curled in distaste, "-rarch arvènne should be able to get through that."
(EDIT: The original word means essentially "son of a b*tch". Oops)

He laughed, enjoying the conversation. "Oh, you are too good. Then riddle me this, little boy: Why would my sworn enemies protect little ol' me? Hmm?"
The demons screamed at the protective cage in displeasure.
"In all reality, you should've noticed that I've been stalling. You're so full of yourself you don't seem to notice that they're already here."

Indeed, five people slammed into the ground, already throwing some destructive magic at the demons and incinerating them in one blow. They all stood, revealing two that Runner knew–Cinthia and Rhydar–and new-ish faces–Cin's twin brother Wulfric, tall and broad shouldered Magnus, and regal light haired Isla.
All royally pissed.
The twins observe the demons calmly, taking in the situation.
He stepped back with a smile and a wink, knowing his job was done. For now.
"What now?"
