"Thanks to you, I will." Miran said softly. "My beautiful knight," He whispered in Kai's ear. "I have a feeling this year will be much different from last year."

Gracie was watching the whole exchange, feeling a bit awkward, but she pulled some hay out of a bag and set it down for Etta, as she would need to eat at the very least.
group
Kai felt a shudder run down his spine when Miran whispered, heat rose to his cheeks. He averted his gaze out of the window with a small smile. For the first time, he didn't have any words to say.
school
Hidden inside her, words rose to the surface when Kai blushed. "Looking a bit like a tomato now, hey?" she teased, flashing a smile at him.
group
"Oh shush…" His smile grew a little wider but he tried to cover it up with a scowl. "It's not every day one gets complimented etc."
"Well, you'd better get used to it." Miran smirked. "There's a lot to compliment."
school
Gracie just laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "If you say so…"
group
"Can we change the subject, please?" Kai laid his head down on the table, covering his embarrassment. Lily and Oscar had caught a glimpse of his red face from cross the canteen, he was preparing for some teasing from those two as well.
"I suppose so. Too bad, through. You're cute when you're flustered." Miran sighed. "Uh… what… did you bring to eat?"
school
"Fine, fine," she gave in unwillingly, but she didn't want to take it too far.
group
Kai rummaged around his back, searching for his food, but then hit his forehead with his palm. "I left my lunch at home on the kitchen unit!"
"Oh." Miran winces, then reaches into his backpack and brings out a brown paper bag. He dumps everything out, grabbing a sandwich bag. "Do you like turkey sandwiches? Because if you do, half of this is yours."
group
Kai shook his head reluctantly. "Oh, it's alright. This is your lunch, I'd feel bad having any of it." he shrugged. "Thank you though."
"No, I insist." Miran hands the sandwich to Kai. "We can split this." He gestures at his lunch. "I've been without lunch before, and it's not fun. I'm not letting you do that today."
group
"You're not giving me a choice, are you?" Kai took the sandwich and slowly took a bite from it. His eyes widened in amazement. "It's so good!" Truth be told he had never had turkey before, so the new flavor made his heart melt.
"Glad you like it." Miran smiles happily, taking a bite from the other half of the sandwich. "You'll also get some apples and chips. Unfortunately, I don't have a drink, but… you're not going to be too hungry."
group
"This sandwich is more than enough for me until I get home, thank you." Kai inhaled the rest of the sandwich, smiling happily. He made a mental note to remind his dad to buy turkey at home. "You need to eat more than I do. If needs be I will steal something from one of my band members. One of them always has a tub of Pringles."
school
Gracie laughed softly. "You have a band?" she inquired. "I didn't know that."
group
Kai froze for a moment, trying to think of a response. "When I say band members I mean my group. Not like an actual band." he chuckled, hoping they bought the lie.
"I guess. It's not good to run on an empty stomach." Miran took another bite of the sandwich. "So, your 'group'." He smiled playfully at Kai. "You any good?"
group
"I just said we're not an actual band… As far as I'm aware I'm the only one who plays any form of instrument or has any connection with music." Kai shrugged, resting his head on the table again, he was becoming tired, he needed more sleep.
school
"Mm, what do you play?" Gracie asked, curious. She'd always wanted to try the flute.
"Are you okay, Kai?" Miran asked, looking at Kai with concern. "You look… tired."
school
"Yeah, actually you do have a point," she agreed. "How much sleep did you even get last night?"
group
"Acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, and I'm in the process of learning violin." Kai answered rather sheepishly, he hadn't told many people he was something of a musician. Again, with the reputation he had built for himself, he didn't really want many people knowing about his guilty pleasures. "And yes, I'm fine, don't worry about me."
"That's a lot of instruments." Miran nodded in approval. "I'm not musical at all. More… athletic and artistic." He leaned closer to Kai. "I will worry about you a bit, though, if that's alright."
school
"Nice! Are you sure though?" Gracie prodded.
group
"I promise you, Gracie, I'm alright, school just tires me out." He chuckled, looking Miran in the eyes, his face a little pink. "Try not to worry about me too much, please."
(Okay like no joke I am running on 2 hours sleep and I'm at work in 5 or 6 hours so I'm going to have to hit the hay. Please feel free to carry on the RP without me and I will catch up when I come home from work.)
"I won't make promises I can't keep." Miran smiled softly.
(Please do that. Don't die.)
school
(Yes I agree with @MasterOfRellusion.)
"If you say so…" replied Gracie, doubt in her voice.
