Tess smiled and pulled him into a side hug, ruffled his hair, then faced the cat. "It wouldn't happen to be in New York, would it?"

Tess smiled and pulled him into a side hug, ruffled his hair, then faced the cat. "It wouldn't happen to be in New York, would it?"
"Your in Bessemer, Alabama"

She sighed. "Ah, so not one I burned down." She twisted her mouth to the side. "Not sure if that's a good thing or not."
Lacie chuckled
Anna rubbed the cat again. "Well, if there's a trial, we should be ready. Can you tell us what kind of trial?" She looked down at the cat.
"Can't say for certain, it changes for every new batch of people," the cat purred
group
Tess crossed her fingers. "Please be explosions, please be explosions, please be explosions. If they know me at all they'll do explosions. Which they should know me, considering how often I've been on the news."
Then let's hope for something we know about, like… explosions." she looked at Tess appreciatively.

She flashed a grin.
The cat chuckled "I wouldn't bet on explosives."
"What about you guys? Any hidden talents, like a love of explosions? Maybe if whoever put us here knows what we're good at that will be part of the trail thing."
group
Tess rubbed at her arms. "Damn."
"Are any of you good at math riddles?" the cat questioned
"Yeah. It can't be all that bad."
"And yes to the riddles, no to the math." (Sorry my computer keeps not loading the chat so I'm a message behind)

She glanced at Anna. "I don't just love explosions, despite how awesome they are." She winced. "Do you really want to know about me?"
group
Tess scrunched up her face. "Er, maybe in a pinch. I'm not exactly considered the brains of my group.."
"yes. My curiosity has risen and I won't sleep until I know." Anna sat down on the floor and looked up steadily.
All the trials have one thing in common, the only way to get out is solving the math riddle to find the path." the cat walked into an open hatch and disappeared. The hatch slammed shut.

Tess winced again at his shrill voice. It might not have intentionally been shrill, but it was to her sensitive ears. "Eh, yeah. Ever heard of the thief known as the Golden Huntress?" She frowned at the cat's departure.
"Ugh. Math. Anybody here like it?"
"Nope, never heard of her. Do tell"
group
"Not a fan myself. Of math. I'm the Golden Huntress, so obviously I'm a fan of her." She flicked her golden hair over her shoulder dramatically.
Lacie chuckled

She patted his head. "It's okay. Anywho, I'm basically one giant misfit. Foster care since birth until I was sixteen, twenty homes in total, and many years running through the streets of New York. I successfully broke into and out of highly secure government facilities, broke out of labs just like this one, and worked with the New York mafia when I was twelve until I turned sixteen. That's what garnished most of the news regarding me."
She brushed a hand over her scarred stomach. "But what the public didn't know was that I was a shapeshifter, abilities centered around the sun. I get my energy and power from the sun, and most of my foster families and the asylums I was put into deprived me of it to keep me… subdued. Locking me in basements or closets." She frowned.
"Ohhhh you're the golden huntress! That's awesome!……… Who's the golden huntress?"
group
"Basically, yeah. The higher it is, the more powerful I become. It's also my source of energy. Think of plants. They get their energy from food and the sun, and so do I."
She flicked her fingers, and a small flame the shape of a puppy took form. "I'm a fire user because of it."
