He prepped it and set out a plate for him and Nyx

"How is it?" He asked

Nyx hastily swallowed a bite of pork chop. "Very good!"

"I'm glad!" He said, smiling

She grinned and put another piece of pork chop in her mouth. It was getting late now, and the sky outside the windows was stained with warm colours, the sun slipping between the trees.

"Ah, another peaceful day…" He hated that contract, but was able to deal with it. He was finished

Nyx was finished as well. "I'll get the ice cream." Standing up, she put her plate in the sink. "Where's the bowls and the spoons?"

"Upper cabinet, left drawer."

Nyx retrieved them and scooped out some ice cream.

He ate some

Nyx, in contrast to the relatively dainty way she had eaten her dinner, devoured the ice cream.

"You're going to get brain freeze."

"I don't get brain freezes."

"If you say so…"

"What, skeptical? I don't. I never have."

"Okay, I believe you."

Nyx smiled.

Vozreal smiled at her smile

"What shall we do now?" Nyx asked, clearing away her now-empty bowl. Thank the stars, she hadn't spilled anything on herself this time.

"More video games?"
