"There is… but it's not interesting…"

She raised her eyebrows. "Your opinion might be different than mine."

He took her to his lab. It was filled with the latest scientific technology.
"This is the lab!" It looked sci-fi

Nyx winced and refused to go in, staying in the hall and averting her eyes from the equipment. Her face had gone from pink to pale, and she was shifting on the balls of her feet, arms crossed, fists balled, spurs pricked. "Nice."

"What's wrong?" He asked, noticing she was nervous

"Nothing." She backed away from the door and started walking down the hall. "Let's go see something else."

"Something's up. Were you… experimented on in the past?"

Nyx's face went chalk white, her nose turning pink.
"No," she said hastily.

"Liar." He stated.
"Don't lie to me…"

"I'm not lying to you." The paleness of her skin betrayed the false back to her words.

"Your body is saying otherwise."

Nyx, realising her body had indeed curled into a defensive stance, bit her lip and uncrossed her arms, stuffing her hands in her pockets. She looked down, refusing to meet his gaze. Her slim shoulders shook.

"Look at me."

She tentatively raised her teal gaze to his crimson one.

"what happened?"

She mumbled something that was too soft to hear.

"What did you say?" He asked, not able to hear her.

"Not here. I don't wanna talk about it here." Or at all.

"Let's go somewhere private then." He said, determined to find out why she was afraid

"…Private?"

"Yes, private."

"Where?"

"My room."

She went pink.

"Oh, not like that!!" He exclaimed. "Perv!"

Nyx found the strength to stick her tongue out at him.

He did it right back

She scowled at him, but her body had turned into a line of defeat, and the scowl disappeared almost as soon as it arrived.

They headed into his room.
"What happened in your past?"

She hugged herself and flopped down onto a couch, curling up in a ball. "I think I'll need a blanket for this one."
