"Yeah… My mistake was going out of the library." He admitted

"Now do you want me to tell you?" She flopped down on the couch and hugged a pillow.

"I think I figured it out. Your ability is to send a field that detects energy out and tracks someone down, like a snake. Am I wrong?"

"You're half-right. I do have a field, and it does sense energy - especially traces of muscular movement energy - but I can also detect things around me. It's like enhanced sonar, but it can go through walls as well."

"Ah, okay! My abilities include stopping time, as you know."

"Yes, I'm familiar with that one." She scowled at him and poked his arm, teal eyes glimmering with amusement. "Cheater."

"If we're going by that logic, your field ability is also cheating." He said, oblivious to her amusement

"Touché." She leaned back against the couch cushions. "I'm exhausted."

"Me too…" He said, sitting somewhat next to her, but not too close

"Using my field takes it out of me." She closed her eyes. "And I'm hungry. Any chance of some dinner?"

"Oh, of course!" He started making it.

Nyx followed him down to the kitchen and curled up on one of the bar stools, watching him sleepily. "Do you need any help? I can make another Orange Julius."

"I'm good, dear! Thanks for offering!"

"I could set the table," she murmured, placing her head on the counter, cushioned by her arms.

"Please!" He said, still prepping

She set the table very fancily, complete with tall tapered candles, before going back to the bar stool and curling up again.

He made dinner.
"Dinner's ready!"

Nyx made her way over to the table and slipped into her seat. "All right then."

He set out plates and dished out dinner. It was Burgers and fries

Nyx ate. The action woke her up some.
"This is really good," she commented.

"Thanks!" He replied.
He ate his fries with mayo.
(Yes, this is a thing people do. I have seen my own father do it. It's disgusting, at least to me.)

(I've seen my sister eat string cheese and salsa, so you know…)
They ate. Nyx got herself a ginger ale from the fridge and poured it into a champagne glass before sipping it daintily.

"Fancy.." He teased.
(My brother put ketchup on TACOS before.)
He had ACTUAL Champagne, which he drank like a rich fuck

Nyx eyed the liquid curiously. She had finished her burger and was working on her fries.
(My sister puts ketchup on everything. Including tacos. Especially tacos.)

He, reversely, had finished his fries and was working on his burger.

Nyx finished her fries.

He was still working on his burger. He finished it and dabbed (not like the cringy dance) his face clean

Nyx finished the last of her ginger ale, crunched the pebble ice loudly, and grinned at him.

"Hm?" He said, noticing her grin
"What are you planning?"

"Nothing."
