"This way." Nyx led them to his hiding room.

She found the book she was looking for in seconds.

"Right, let's do this," Nyx said.

"Can you sacrifice an eyeball?" She asked

"Already did." Nyx grinned. "I can go find another one, if you want."

"Phoenix, can YOU sacrifice an eyeball?"

She nodded.

"Pluck it out for me, then." She said

"What? One of yours?"

"One of your eyeballs. It's necessary."

"One of mine?"

"Yes. You want to do this or not???" She said, causing a small, almost unseeable whirlwind in the room

"Can't we just go find one of the ones that floats around town?" Nyx asked, desperate.

"No. Those are their own being. I'll need one that belongs to someone."

"There's nobody we could steal one from?" Nyx asked.
"We could steal one from Mark," Phoenix muttered. "He deserves it."

"Nope!! It has to be someone in the same room as the portal opening."

"So if we kidnapped someone," Nyx said slowly, and turned to Phoenix, "and brought them here, and put one of their eyes out…"

"And someone close to him or someone who's close to someone's who close to him. It can't be a random stranger." That wasn't necessary. All that was necessary was confusion. By the way, Sindy was a cyclops

"Is there any way to make it grow back?"

"oh, of course there is!!"

"So if I put my own eye out," Nyx began, but Phoenix grabbed her shoulder.
"Nyx, no."
"I'm doing it, Phi."
"No."
"It'll grow back."
"I said no."
"We've been through worse pain," Nyx reminded her. "And I have you here with me."
Phoenix's gaze softened slightly. "Fine." She looked at Sindy. "But I'm warning you, if it doesn't grow back" - she lifted up a hand, and a green ball of plasma crackled at her fingers - "you'll have me to answer to."
"Be nice," Nyx murmured.

"Oh, of course It will grow back, partner!!" She said, sounding like a southern belle

"Do it," Nyx said, loading her right spur with pain-causing venom. "Fast." Before either of them could protest, she pricked herself in the thigh, hissing with pain. "I'll be fine, it just causes pain so I have something else to focus on. Do it now."

Sindy took out Nyx's eye and placed it onto the ground, near the top of the pentagram.

Nyx howled in pain and squeezed her eyes shut, wiping blood off of her cheek. Phoenix grabbed her shoulders. "Nyx?" She looked at Sindy, green fire blazing in her eyes. "When does it grow back?"

"Right… now!" And so it did

Nyx gasped and opened her eyes. It still stung like mad, or maybe that was the leftover venom burning in her veins.
"It's all right, Phi." She wiped the remaining blood off of her cheek. "It's back. I'm fine."
"Good."
Nyx looked up, determination set in every line of her face. "What now?"

She got the rest of the ingredients.
"I'll need you to chant this with me: 'Portal to Tartarus, Open!!!' about 3 times."
