"Crying doesn't suit you…" He muttered

She tilted her head up and peered at him curiously, a thin ribbon of sound escaping her throat. "Mm?"

"I said, crying doesn't suit you."

She stared at him numbly for a moment, the words sinking into her brain.
Crying doesn't suit you.
No. Crying didn't suit Phoenix. Nyx had only seen Phoenix cry once. Nyx was the crier, the emotional one, and Phoenix was all angles and logic and kept her feelings locked away.
But Phoenix was strong. Nyx cried. Did that mean she wasn't strong?
She tucked her head against his chest and mumbled, "Phoenix never cries."

"Phoenix bottles it up, then. And when you bottle something up, it will eventually explode like a volcano." he said

She smiled thinly. "Phoenix doesn't have enough emotion to explode."

"Sonder." he stated simply

"Sonder?"

"The realization that each person has a equally complex life as you do." He stated.

Nyx was sorely tempted to tease him about this becoming philosophy class, but kept her mouth shut about that. "I know your life's complex…" She absentmindedly fiddled with his shirt.

"And everyone else's life is too. Even Phoenix."

"I know." I think I always did, you helped me realise it.
She closed her eyes. There was silence. Suddenly, she realised how tired she was.
"I should probably go to bed…"

"Maybe you could sleep in my room? I'm not particular tired right now."

"I don't care." She was too tired to think.

"Go to my room and sleep on my bed."

She changed into her nightgown and did so.

He stayed up, playing minecraft.

Nyx slept, her hair falling over her face, her pale skin fairly glowing in the silvery light of the moon. With her lashes fanning on her cheeks and her mouth slightly open, she looked serene.

later, he went and slept with her. Don't take that outta context

Nyx woke up for a few moments as he crawled in, then shut her eyes, rolled over, and went back to sleep.

He started to dream. I don't know what he dreamt, but he did.
And then, it was morning

Nyx, worn out, paid no attention to the fact that it was morning and slept.

He was still asleep too

Nyx slept in until noon.

He slept until 1

Nyx, who had laid in bed, half-lucid, for an hour, noticed his eyes open and smiled.

He blinked awake.
"Hey, beautiful."

Nyx blinked at the b-word, then snuggled up next to him, looping an arm around his chest.

"How long have you been awake?"
