She smiled and filled it up. "You make it sound like we'll be spending a lot of time together. Depends on if my lover allows it or not." (Cause Crystal ain't proposing)

(I apologize, Shadow I might work you in still I'm tossing around a few ideas. I have a few others if anyone wants to add to those.)
(Nah! It's fine!)
"Hopefully we'll spend a lifetime," Thorne said, taking a lazy sip of wine. "Because, personally, I'm totally fine with it." They gave Crystal a small, mischievous smile.
She blushes suddenly and turns away to look out the window at the cloudy night sky. The rain had put everything into a dewy state, thus making everything glitz and gleam like diamonds.
"Everything okay, Crystal?" Thorne asked, following her gaze out the window. "Ooh, that's pretty." They stare at the scene, as if trying to commit it to memory.
"Yes I'm quite alright dear." (Crystal is the mom/grandma friend and no one can convince me otherwise) She nodded as the fireflies buzzed, crickets chirped, and a fog settled in. "I love foggy days like this. It's sort of like the whole world is dressed in mystery and steeped in adventure, tied with the pretty bow of perfect weather and getting out to enjoy it." She says with a nod.
"Yeah… Fog makes everything seem so much more… Mysterious. Filled with wonder and secrets." Thorne agreed, gazing at the scene.
She nodded. "Who knows if those are really fireflies, or glowing eyes of monsters staring at us." She yawned.
"Indeed." Thorne looked over at Crystal. "Oh, dear. You're tired, aren't you?" They drained their glass and set it down. "Do you want to get to bed?"
"I am a little tired but it's alright. I'm used to being tired. I am a nightowl after all…and an earlybird. Making me special." She winks and laughs a bit at her own joke. (Cause ya know Early Bird Special for like restaurants and stuff)
"Ha!" Thorne laughed. "Well, if you're okay, then I suppose we could stay here a bit longer." They smiled.
She nodded and ate some more cheese and crackers, then went out the back door and stood there, taking it in, and yawned stretching as the cold prickled her skin. "Such a pretty night."
"Yeah." Thorne got up and walked up next to her. "So, Crystal…" They took a deep breath, then pulled a pale gold ring out of thin air. "I know I want to spend a lifetime with you… would you want to spend a lifetime with me?" They held out the ring with a hopeful smile, a green-blue stone sparkling in the low light.
She looked at you wide eyed and took the ring. "So soon? Ah but I feel like you barely know me." She said, holding it up to the moon light, watching it glitter.
"Well, your mother seemed pretty… anxious for you to meet someone. I'm enjoying myself quite a lot with you, so." Thorne shrugged. "If you think I barely know you, tell me about yourself. All the things you think I should know." They suggested.
She slipped on the ring. "Ah. I like to do things by example, not just by talking." She says with a nod.
"Okay, then," Thorne raised their eyebrow. "Anything you want to show me about yourself, then?" They glanced at the ring on Crystal's finger. "And does that mean you've accepted?"
"Not tonight dear, and yes I do accept. But do know you are in for quite the adventure!" She said with a nod. "Shall we head to bed? Tomorrow will be quite the excitement. I think since our engagement is fresh and new we will stay in…separate beds for the night ya know?"
"I'm glad. I can't wait," Thorne said, smiling happily. "And yes, I agree. I will see you in the morning, then?" They asked, tilting their head slightly.
She nods. "There will be a big departing banquet in the morning, though breakfast isn't usually as big as that. So many guests. And tomorrow even then will be declarations of love and men trying to flirt."
"Well, that banquet sounds like so much fun." They wrinkle their nose, then frown. "Declarations of love? Even after…" Thorne nodded at the ring on Crystal's finger.
"I wear jewelry often, so yes. But I'll be sure to tell Mother as soon as possible." She says with a nod, and being filled with daring, leans over and kisses your cheek. She then heads back inside and upstairs, humming softly.
Thorne smiled at the kiss, then walked back to their room. Their heart was light, and a smile hovered on their lips.
The next morning, Crystal headed down stairs. Her hair was in a braid, with roses inlaid into it. She wore a long gone, that hugged her figure wonderfully. She also had on a brown leather satchel, torn up and used time and time again. She sat down at the table, a small tiara on her head, as she sat right by her mother, and her father as well. "Good morning!"
Thorne woke up and got dressed in a dress shirt, waistcoat, and black pants. They were unsure where to go, but heard someone speaking down the stairs. They follow the voices to a room with a table. Crystal was sitting there, along with what they assumed was her mother and father. "Uh… hello?
"Hello good morning!" Crystal waved. It was a long table, and other lords and even knights companied by their bards, sat at the table and ate and made merry.
"Good morning." Thorne made their way over to Crystal. "Should I be here, or is there somewhere else I should eat?"
"This is where everyone eats love." She kissed your cheek again, as her mother raised an eyebrow, and her father looked over the maids. "Oh yes mother!" She flashes the ring. "I did your wishes." Her mother grinned and clasped her hands together. "Oh dearie me, my little poppet finally going off and getting married! And what a fine ah, gentleman you have found!" "Mother, it's a they." "Oh! Apologies! WELL THEN! We will have to get planning, IMMEDIATELY!" Crystal sighed and returned to her blueberry muffin as her mother talked with some lords and ladies. She mumbled to herself. "Yaaay weddings." And glared at the plate.
