"Sorry, Crystal." Thorne sat down in an empty seat beside her and grabbed an apple. "So, what do I have to do now? Anything special?"
"Sorry, Crystal." Thorne sat down in an empty seat beside her and grabbed an apple. "So, what do I have to do now? Anything special?"
"Just eat and associate yourself dear." She nods and grabs a piece of apple pie and began to eat that, drinking milk.
"Very well." Thorne took a bite of the apple, turned to the person next to them, and began to talk. "Hello, there. I'm Thorne. And you are…?" They continue to talk, getting up and moving up and down the table, introducing themselves to every person with a smile.
Crystal watched her, and talked about Thorne to her parents, eating quite a bit. One moment she is there, and the next she's gone and out the door to the forest. "KIA KIA! KIA KIA!" And her fox comes bolting out and tackles her. "Hello there ferocious Farra!" And the two walk off.
Thorne looked up from chatting with a very talkative lord to see Crystal disappear from the room, into the forest. They thought about following her but decided to let her be on her own for a little. After all, they still hadn't talked to everyone they wanted to.
Crystal smiled and headed past the court yard and to the stables. "Asina! Saddle up my dragon!" A handsome farm boy with black hair and twinkling eyes nodded and did that, as she played with the fox.
Thorne finished talking with all the lords and ladies and decided to slip away and explore the grounds in the sunlight. Besides, it looked like breakfast was nearly over. They walked out of the room and into the gardens. The sun was bright and warm, which made them smile.
Suddenly there was a great thudding, and you heard Crystal laughing way off in the distance. "PEARL PEARL! DIA DIA! DIA!" She called.
"What the Ed…?" Thorne looked towards the sound, then ran towards the sounds. They had no idea what was causing the thudding, but Crystal sounded happy enough, so she probably wasn't in danger.
You came to a white dragon, with blue eyes, and a pink sheen to it's scales, coiled around Crystal as it eyed you. It growled and smoke began to entrail out of nostrils. "PEARL! DIA!" She called. (Kia is Here and Dia is Down) The dragon curled around me tighter. "Pearl sweetheart, that's my lover to be."
"Dragon." Throne said, staring at the dragon. "Interesting. There's a dragon. Does it breathe fire? Or something else?" They inquire, eyebrows creased. "This is so cool." They continue in a quiet voice, which Crystal could barely hear.
"Ice dragon. My sister and my brother both have one. OH! I SHOULD GET YOU A DRAGON!" She wriggles out of the dragons coils, and grabs your hands, as the dragon stretches out on the ground, and she walks over. "We're going dragon shopping." She announces, and clamors up onto the wink, and uses that to get her onto the saddle.
"Ice dragon?" Thorne looked at the dragon. "Yeah, I can see that. Wait, dragon shopping? What?"
"Well it's a term but yes. We're going to get you a dragon." She smiled. "Well are you coming Thorne? Do you trust your fiance?"
"I do trust you." Thorne followed Crystal up into the saddle. "So… where does one get a dragon?"
She leaned down and whispered in Pearl's ear, then turned around. "Hold on tight Love! She's a jumpy one!" And then she began to run, it a very ungraceful bumpy run. "WINGS! UNFOLD!" And like that they go out. "UP! UP!" And after some tilting and us nearly going upside down she regains balance and flight both at the same time. "There. You get dragons in the dragon dens of course!"
"I see," Thorne said calmly, clinging to Crystal to avoid falling off. "And… where would the dragon dens be? In the woods, perhaps?"
"Mountains." She said simply. She relaxed into your arms, and took a deep breath. "You know dear, you smell like cinnamon."
"Oh, yes." Throne smiled. "The smell of home." They pause, then continue. "A few trees near Zini are Everlasting. Do you know about the Everlasting trees?"
She shook her head. "I've heard of them but I don't know much about them."
"They're the most beautiful trees, in my opinion," Thorne says happily. "They always look like it's autumn, and the leaves are constantly swirling to the ground. And they smell like cinnamon. I have a few beads carved from their wood braided into my hair, just to remind me of home." Thorne smiled.
She nods. "That sounds wonderful." Suddenly the dragon stops, nearly flinging us off. Crystal grabs you and pulls you close, as Pearl perched in a tree, and sat there, looking around. "Pearl why did we-" Suddenly there was a screech. "Ah. Angry Hippogriff." (Yes the one from Harry Potter)
"What should we do?" Thorne asked, looking around, holding tight to Crystal. "Do we have to fight it, or do we have to just stay still and wait it out?"
"Actually, neither. We compliment it. They are very pompous and proud beasts, and like to be known for their beauty. Vain too. Must be my sisters." She sighed and got off pearl, and began to climb up the tree after helping you down.
"Okay, then." Thorne followed Crystal up the tree. "Where is it? Close to us?"
She shrugs as she sat there at the top branch. "I may know a lot, but not everything. This is what we use our senses for dear." She breathed in and out, calming down the thudding in her heart, looking around to see if she could spot it. "Look-THERE!" She points to a flash of grey darting between the tree's with another screech, something brown sticking out of it's wing. "Oh dear,it's been hit!" She then scrambled down the tree, helping you. "PEARL! DIA!" The dragon gave off a weak growl of protest. "NOW." And it leapt down. Then Crystal walked off towards the hurt screeching.
Thorne clambered out of the tree and followed Crystal. "If you need a calming voice for the beast so you can help it, I'm at your service." They said softly.
(This died?)
(OH HEY I forgot i was doing this, sorry birthday stuff got me wrapped up)
"Well thank you dear!" She kissed your cheek and found the griffin, it screeching and running around wild. "Woah there you beautiful beast, calm down. There there." She muttered a spell and a purple fog befell it, and it fell over and went to sleep. "There we go…" She then went over and sighed. "PEARL! CMERE GIRL!" The dragon crept out from the tree's and licked my face. "Oh I love you too ol' girl. Let's see…" She pulls out bandages, salve, alcohol for cleaning the wound, cotton to plug it, and then a pair of tweezers and a few other sharp tools. "Poor fellow, how dare they hunt such a wonderful creature?"
(Totally okay, I was quite busy with schoolwork anyways! Happy birthday, also!)
Thorne smiled at the kiss, then leaned against a tree and watched Crystal work. "Who would hunt a griffin?" They asked, gazing at the creature. "I mean, what could you possibly want with one?"
