The others were great, but third time's the charm! (Character Chat)

Clove angled her head at Runner while he inspected the Runes. "You see them?"
Hero got up to inspect Runner as well. "I mean, he could use some Caretaker training. Just a little sambo should get rid of the baby fat. After that, he'd have the ladies–or men–falling at his feet to get a taste. Don't you agree, Clover?" (They can understand her name, as that's the only thing in English )
Clover looked stricken. "He can't be serious."
"This is….odd. Never seen anything like this."
group
"But you can see them, yes?" Clover asked, ignoring Hero's comments.
He nodded. "It's like a 3D movie. It's there, it looks like I can mess with it, yet I can't. Very…odd."
group
She handed him a cigarette and lighter. "Use this. See Runes clearer. Understand better."
group
Hero glanced at Clover. She translated Athena's comment, then Hero shook his head at Athena. "Runes aren't strictly Russian. Clover and I just happen to be Russian. They're all over the place. Hidden. Pretty much only us Caretakers know anything about them."
group
Clover shrugged. "If Temple accepts, you could be Caretaker trainee. If you want."
group
(She's shamelessly trying to get new recruits. They're in desperate need for some)
group
She held up a finger. "If Temple accepts."
"I'm really not trying to smoke some weird plant, but thanks." He rubbed his face.
group
Clover shrugged and put the cigarette and lighter back. "Suit yourself. We go in Temple, yes? Hero and I will unlock. Announce your presence and ask acceptance."
"I told you, I'm really not trying to be a part of this. I appreciate the offer, I really do, but I just don't want that responsibility on me."
group
Clover rolled her eyes while Hero got the gist of the conversation and proceeded to take off his shirt, exposing Runes carved all over his torso.
"I not ask to join. Temple is picky who enter. Want to do permission for you to enter to help kill man inside."
She took off her coat and fiddled with her arm, pressing into it. The artificial skin covering the metal folded in on itself and was inserted into a box inside her metal arm. Just like Hero's torso, Runes were craved over the sleek metal.
He sighed. "Alright, fine." All he did was crack his knuckles.
group
The two Caretakers walked up the stairs of the Temple. Hero glanced sadly back at Runner. "Ah, he's not gonna comment on my musculature? But I worked so hard on it…"
Clover sighed, just about done with her adoptive brother. "I highly doubt he cares about your 'musculature.' I don't even see the appeal."
"That's because you're no fun."
(Don't take it personally, Clover just doesn't see anyone as attractive.)
group
Hero snickered and jogged up the stairs, pulling Clover along with him. Now she looked 100% done with him.
He rubbed his nose, understanding nothing and not really caring
group
((He should care, lol))
group
The two Caretakers reached the Temple door and placed their Rune covered palms on the door. The Temple rumbled, then glowed a tad bit brighter, then opened the doors slightly, as if it didn't have the strength to go any farther. The two exchange a glance, then head on inside, beckoning for the rest of the group.
He followed them silently, gazing at the intricate symbols and writings carved into the stone walls.
group
Their footsteps echoed on the stone floor of the hallway. The place was dim–near lifeless.
Clover narrowed her eyes and rested her metal arm on the broken pieces of the javelin. "Quiet. Not right." Hero echoed the sentiment in Russian.
He stopped, unsure what was going on. Which was becoming a normal thing for him.
group
Clover ushered him over again, heading towards a large and heavy set of doors. She and Hero pushed them open, straining against the weight. The next room was like that of a throne room, but instead of thrones atop the dial was a large stone obelisk, carved top to bottom in Runes. The Caretakers approached, kneeling before the obelisk and touching their heads to the cool stone.
He just stood behind them, hands clasped awkwardly as he watched the scene.
