He followed her, albeit much slower. It's sad this isn't the weirdest think I've experienced in the past 24 hours.
The others were great, but third time's the charm! (Character Chat)

She met up with Hero at the bottom, who had out his ax and his back against a wall next to an open door. He jerked his head inside, gesturing to the man inside. Clover pressed herself against the wall on the other side of the door.
Runner walked in, blinking a few times to get his eyes adjusted to the dark. "You're in for a bad, bad time. I've got a lot of frustration, and and actual reason to kick your ass from here to fucking Cancun. So come out. Now."
group
A man in robes stepped into a spot of moonlight. "Ah. Another one of those damned Caretakers?" He chuckled. "You have far more fire than those last ones." He swept a hand towards a bloody heap of shredded bodies.
"I'm not no fuckin' Caretaker. And I got a whole lot more than just fire, bub." His body was suddenly ablaze, lighting the whole room with the orange low of the hellfire.
group
The man looked oddly surprised. "Well then. This just got interesting." He spread his arms, and symbols glowed around him.
Clover silently snarled at the man from where she stood. Fake Runes. Not as powerful, but still.
Hero nodded at Clover and flipped his ax, putting it into single-blade mode. He charged in, yelling. A distraction.
Clover flicked her fingers, lessening the man's gravitational pull. While he whirled on Hero, he didn't notice his feet slowly lifting off the ground. Go, she silently urged Runner. He can't run.
Runner growled, charging forward with unexpected speed from a guy of his body type and grabbing the man by the neck and throwing his as hard as he could at one of the glowing runes on the wall.
group
The Rune glowed brighter. The man screamed, having been slammed against the decay Rune. "No! How!? They don't work!"
"Surprise,"He said, looking bored. He began playing with the thought of putting a thumbfull of hellfire on his feet, but then shook his head. I'm turning into a sadist.
group
The man's flesh slowly began decaying away–the Rune a little slower from the lack of energy. Clover ran up to Runner and pulled him away. "Not safe. Get you too."
He looked up at her with wide eyes, as the hellfire still danced on his skin.
group
She hung back, gripping her mildly burned nonmetal arm. She had only grabbed him for a small space of time, so the hellfire didn't have enough time to completely leap at the chance to kill her.
It was immediately extinguished, Runner's hair still smoking slightly. "Why in all hell would you do that?"
group
She looked away, her arm trembling from the suppressed pain. "You decay too, if I not. Too reckless."
"Then tell me. That could've killed you!" He stood up, starting to walk over to her. "Let me see your arm."
group
She hissed at him in Russian, backing away. Hero watched them while sitting on the floor, like a child in the move theater.
"What? I never told you to grab me and I'm trying to help."
group
She glared at him, but made no more moves to retreat. He has point.
He moved closer, gently holding her arm by the elbow and inspected it. "You're lucky you grabbed me with your robot arm, or you'd have a whole lot more problems than a few singed wires."
group
(She isn't the only human. Hero and Clover are human, just trained as Caretakers)
group
"I not idiot," was all she said.
"Well, it was stupid, either way." He dropped her arm. "You'll be fine."
group
She tried flexing her fingers, but the burnt wires popped and sparked, and the fingers didn't move. "Well then." She could move the arm at the elbow and shoulder, but that was about it.
"I meant from, like, the whole dying a horrible death part. You'll still need to get it fixed."
group
"I know. Need assessment of problem before getting fix."
Hero decided to chime in at that moment. "Father won't be too pleased you ruined his precious creation for this kid." He smiled mischievously. "My, does Clover have a crush?"
She scowled at him. "You know me well enough to know that's far from the truth." Hero looked mildly disappointed.
Runner looked around for a moment, sighing. "Well, I did what I came here to do." After another moment, he began heading for the large door they had entered from, relieved to finally be done with this bullshit.
group
Clover didn't try to stop him, respecting his decision. Neither did Hero. They looked mournfully at the fallen Caretakers, and began the strenuous process of laying them to rest in the Temple catacombs.
"I'm FREE!" He shouted with a blissful laugh, his frustration beginning to melt away.
