"9 am sharp… SHIT!" She gets up,and grabs your hand, and runs off, soon letting go of you. She then clicks her heels together, and out popped roller skates. She then took off again, happy she had sent down her bags early.
ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE! If you want it
Teon followed Evelyn out of the lunchroom, then sprinted to the lockers where he had stashed his stuff. He grabbed his bags, and sprinted to the meeting place. Which was on the other side of the building. By the time he got there, he was breathing harder than normal. Things were off to a great start.
(listen to Red Light by The Regrettes. It's their love song I swear)
She was already in the "descrete" vehicle. Which was a white van. She was in the back, playing some music and watching the pink musing notes on her black suit light up slowly as she sang. Now. One of the few good qualities of Evelyn, was her voice when soft. As she sang a single tear rolled down her cheek,in touch with her heart, lost in the moment as she tapped her foot to keep beat, and used the synthesizers on her arm for added affect.
(Yeah, it kinda is.)
Teon threw his stuff in the back of the van and hopped in, freezing when he saw Evelyn, sitting there, a tear tracing its way down her cheek as she sang. "Uh… are we still good? With the schedule?" He asked, wanting to tear his eyes away from her, but unable to. He'd never seen her like this. Finally, he dropped his eyes to the ground.
There was no response. Her headphones were on,eyes closed,as her voice went up and then down. As you listened it was a heartbreak. A past lover. 3 years, an engagement, and he left her for her sister. The last verse ended and she crawled away from you all the way to the back of the van, and curled up in a corner, looking out the window, embarrassed to be so volunerable.
"Um." Teon cleared his throat, then sat on the opposite end of the van, bag sitting at his feet. He kept finding himself glancing over at Evelyn, but tore his eyes away every time. It didn't seem right, her being like this. Eventually, he pulled a tattered paperback from his bag and started to read.
She eventually calmed down. "Augh, hate it when the suit calls for a sadness warm up. Oh well. Can't control it." Suddenly two TV's popped down and Head Master gives us a pep and prep talk about the mission. Evelyn listened with little interruption. "Oh,and after this you're on your own. I suggest you take my advice and instructions to heart." She cleared her throat and Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Oh and no killing eachother." This was obviously directed at you. "Now,good luck to the both of you. I hope this turns out well." And up the TV's went.
"What? Why am I always the one people think is going to turn into a crazy murderer?" Teon says, half to himself. "I don't have that look about me." He sighs and opens his book back up.
"Yes you do." Evelyn retorted back with a laugh, happier now,and kept watching out the window.
"Really?" Teon set his book down and looked over at her. "What about me screams "he'll murder you if he gets the chance'?"
"The fact that you hate me. Your eyes. I always notice eyes, yours are dark and mysterious, heavy hooded, like as if your glowering all the time, angry at the world. And you don't smile, you smirk like you're mad, crazy, have a trick or 4 up your sleeve. That's how." She had gotten her face super close to yours,to wear you could feel her breath on your bottom lip, booping your noses together.
"I see." Teon grinned, although as Evelyn had pointed out, the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Don't worry, my impulse control is pretty good. I probably won't stab you if you get on my nerves." The smile twisted into a smirk. "Probably."
"Hm but see I can stand a stab. It would depend on the knife I used to stab you,of whether it would kill you or not." Her face pressed in even more, and she smiled and pulled away. "Maybe working with ya won't be so bad. Only horrible, instead of miserable."
"I guess. We'll just have to see." He leaned against the wall of the van and closed his book. "I still don't get how we're going to do this. I mean, it seems pretty impossible."
"Well, with that attitude it is." She retorted. "Jeez, impossible is when things work out best, idiot."
"Oh, of course." Teon sighed and looked over at her. "So, tell me. How are you planning on going about this, Evelyn? It'd better be a good plan, too. Since 'impossible is when things work out best'. Or are you simply going to jump in there without a plan? That's probably what you're going to do. Don't know why I asked." He shook his head and tipped his head back to look at the ceiling.
She reached over and smacked your forehead. "Don't be such a fucking smart Alec know it all. I did some research on the place last night. Door D is the least heavily guarded but the hallway it opens into is mostly boring rooms like lame paper work and broom closets. Villians gotta keep their layers vile looking somehow. Door A is the most heavily guarded but is the main entrance. Meaning there is probably juicy stuff."
"Right." Teon rubbed his forehead reproachfully. "Is there a way to get from Door D to the back of Door A? Are they connected at all?" His lips twisted slightly in amusement. "I didn't do any research, although you probably already guessed that." He sighed and looked dejectedly at the ground. "I'm not a 'fucking smart Alec know it all' after all."
"Quit playing culprit. Here." She grabs her backpack, and shuffles through, and pulls out a map. "I'm not any good at map reading so you can figure some of it on your own."
"Quit playing what?" Teon looked at the map and snatched it out of Evelyn's hand. "I'm not playing anything." He unfolds the map and spreads it out on his lap. "Well, let's see… it looks like the two doorways are connected…" His face falls. "But there's a lot of twisty hallways and guard stations and doors between them. Fantastic." He bends over closer to the map, tracing paths and muttering things to himself.
She got up and sat next to you,and handed you a sharpie. "Mark her up. And your playing victim, sorry not culprit. I'm tired. Also what did you expect, for this to be easy?" She laughs. "This isn't training days anymore dumb ass."
"Yes, well." Teon accepted the sharpie and started tracing the best path. "I never really got to do anything other than training days. And useless assignments where it didn't matter if I did good or not." He shook his head slightly and made a note on the map. "I still can't believe they trusted me with this. They never trusted me with anything before."
"Ah so I'm the experienced, responsible one." She laughed. "Alright fresh meat. No villian layer is easy. Ever. Also you're going to ruin a lot of goons lives,so don't bother thinking about peoples families, can miss with your head. Oh. And you're totally my human shield."
"Think about their families." Teon scoffed. "Why would I think about their families? It's a useless thing to think about in the middle of a battle." He whipped his head to stare at Evelyn, eyes narrowed. "Don't even think about using me as a human shield, Evelyn."
"Think? Already have it set as a concrete plan, meaty." She grinned and patted your head. "You'll be fine. Probably."
"Hmph." Teon grabbed Evelyn's wrist and took her hand off of his head, holding it in front of him and shaking it slightly. "I want something more than a 'probably', Evelyn. Besides, I don't think you would want your best marksman to get killed at the very beginning, now do you?" He arched his eyebrows.
"Yes. Also. Quit being weirdly kinky." She yanked her hand back. "And who said you'd die at the beginning? Or at all? I'm on the probably scale as well, best I can offer. I could make your death a definite, along with making it an accident! So don't test me,in crazy."
"Oh, really." Teon crossed his arms. "Why do you want to kill me so bad anyway? What did I do to you to make you want to make my death an 'accident'?" He started folding up the map, carefully making sure the corners lined up perfectly.
"Dunno. Mostly cause I don't like you. And I don't like very few people, especially as a pansexual." She shrugged.
