"Enslaved To Insanity"

Internally bleeding, she cried out
Echoing within her own mind
No escape
"Suffer" a voice screeched "SUFFER"

Hung, she bled, lips trembling
She chose this
Betrayed
For the inner walls have closed in

Trapped, surrounded, suffering
With nowhere else to run
Her mind scattered amongst the floor
Like marbles released from their prison

A light flickered, but it wasn't enough
The darkness consuming
For even the brightest of light
Will not be able save her from her own mind

More than okay! It's amazing, I cannot believe that someone can write that well! Every time I read something you wrote it just blows me out of the water. When are you going to write a book?

Yeeeees! Do you have Wattpad by chance?

@Bandito

(that was awesome) (I think I'm scared)
(this one can't decide if it wants to rhyme so eh)
An angel
With wings
Can it float?
Can it levitate?
Does it have to fly
Take the dive
Work to be alive?
An angel
With a halo
Can it stay
Out of sight?
Does it always
Shed its light?
Will it always
See what's right?
An angel
With a lyre
Can it be the quiet one?
Can it just not want to sing?
Can it just listen to the other angels
Sing so beautiful and clear
So proud and happy and near
But so far away
Cause it can't hear
Them past
Its stupid fear
Blanking out its eyes
Hiding all the mirrors
Shredding its lip
Plugging its lovely ears
Does it play
With golden tears?

@ravens

wow

@croccin-champagne

Call it a passing fancy
Or an unreachable dream
But I want to touch the stars
And chase things that aren't what they seem
I hear music in the world
There floating on the breeze
I see magic in emotions
A smile, a tear, a snarl
There's something so fantastical
About the world I see around me
And when I decide to pay attention
It pays attention to me

Idk what it is but here!

See the girl?
What does she hide?
Who is she really
On the inside?
Who is that man?
What does he want?
Why doesn't he let people see him from the front?
If we all hide
Who we really are,
Then why does it matter
What we show to them?
They don't see us.
They just flee us.
The few.
The hidden.
The Strange.

The White Man's Burden
By Rudyard Kipling1

Take up the White Man's burden—
Send forth the best ye breed—
Go, bind your sons to exile
To serve your captives' need;
To wait, in heavy harness,
On fluttered folk and wild—
Your new-caught sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child.

Take up the White Man's burden—
In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of terror
And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple,
An hundred times made plain,
To seek another's profit
And work another's gain.

Take up the White Man's burden—
The savage wars of peace—
Fill full the mouth of Famine,
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
(The end for others sought)
Watch sloth and heathen folly
Bring all your hope to nought.

Take up the White Man's burden—
No iron rule of kings,
But toil of serf and sweeper—
The tale of common things.
The ports ye shall not enter,
The roads ye shall not tread,
Go, make them with your living
And mark them with your dead.

Take up the White Man's burden,
And reap his old reward—
The blame of those ye better
The hate of those ye guard—
The cry of hosts ye humour
(Ah, slowly!) toward the light :—
"Why brought ye us from bondage,
Our loved Egyptian night?"

Take up the White Man's burden—
Ye dare not stoop to less—
Nor call too loud on Freedom
To cloke your weariness.
By all ye will or whisper,
By all ye leave or do,
The silent sullen peoples
Shall weigh your God and you.

Take up the White Man's burden!
Have done with childish days—
The lightly-proffered laurel,
The easy ungrudged praise:
Comes now, to search your manhood
Through all the thankless years,
Cold, edged with dear-bought wisdom,
The judgment of your peers.

I had to read it and now you do too. Have the official shittiest poem I've ever seen.

@Periwinkle_

For the first time in my life, I’m actually afraid of forgetting.

All these other times it was just fun and games
Me saying I would never want to be like the ones who forget.
Yet I’ve forgotten.
Already I’ve forgotten, even though it feels like just yesterday.
I know there are things that I’ve forgotten, but I just don’t remember them.
And I hate myself for it.
It’s bad to be sad when you should be, but it’s even worse to be sad when you should be happy.
To miss something you shouldn’t have loved in the first place.
To try to fight
To choose between nobility and nobility.
Between holding on even though it hurts, or letting go even though you’re afraid you’ll go numb.
When the beat rises, and you don’t know why
What you do know is
You’ve forgotten.
