POEMS post 'em here my friends!

(sry power went out and spring break but I'm back now)

If I showed you my scars
would you call me a freak
and say that I'm selfish and weak

Or would silently back away
not really understanding or knowing what to say

Or would be the one
the one to actually stay
and sit with me until everything felt okay
((kinda short my apologizes

This right here really got me in my feelings 😭

I lay on the floor
Feeling tears slide down my cheek and
Plink
On the carpet
I sit up and I pull my knees to my chest
Feeling the tears soak into my jeans
I cry because I win
The monsters in my mind are over
They are twisted into beautiful sculptures
Disgused as perfection
Never again
I claw my way out of my head
My head
My head
My head that swirls with the dragons
And the demons
I float through the air
Free
I AM FREE
The magnetic pull
It drags me back
I rake my hands through the air
Trying to stay
This blissful dream
The monsters take my arm and yank
Me back into the torture of my mind.

People look so lovely with

Eyes closed -

So serene with

Heads leaned back,

Lips offered parted and glistening,

Teeth partly offered,

Glimpsed jewelry in the mouth;

Timeless, ageless, magicians that be with friends and lovers and strangers alike,

Holy in their unintended purity, so that watching them so vulnerable may be a sin,

We feel.

Yet how is it

That when their eyes open and ribcages are stretched

They bring insincere laughter,

Condescension and prejudice

Spewing forth from poison, glistening tongues?

It's on the screen and in the air
In ads for clothes and neon hair
Stand out!
Be one of a kind!
No one will like you if you're one of us!
Only special people make money and get famous and star in interviews
But at the same time
They'll spit on you, plug their children's ears, avoid you like a disease
Call you a freak, put duct tape over your mouth, take pictures with their phones
It's a fine line between being different and being different

Pardon me but how are these all so good?

Wrote this for school and it sucks, but take it.

The roar of the waves fills my ears, and strangely dominates the howl of the wind.
It smashes against the rocks of the jetty and dissipates with a faint "sssss".
Moisture caresses my cheeks and smooths my hair with it's gentle hand.
My head tilts back for my silent screams to reach the stars.

He sees his mom, laughs
Looks at his dad, "Nothing"
He only looks at one half
He's counting on just one thing
"Your hands are cold," she says
Colder than our hearts
"Stop looking so old!"
But he's just doing your part
He might be a talker
He might be reserved
Whatever he thinks
You people deserve

I'll mourn for a day
And I'll cry for a night
Because the angels won't pray
And my burden's too light

He won't like the dark
But he's scared of the sun
Stars highlight the mark
Morning screams what's been done
When trying to sleep
He'll just look out his window
And count all the sheep
But his wool's black as snow
The world just keeps turning
He thinks that every day
And everyone just keeps learning
Not to hope, breathe, or pray
