Megan went inside and approached the mechanism, studying it too.
(Unsure if this mechanism thing is supposed to be a real thing… Also I would try to imagine this place, but I've never really seen Doc Oc's lab or whatever before….)

Skye frowned as he took a step closer, his amulet flaring. as his hand brushed against a large cylinder on one side. what the…. "Megan… " his voice was quiet as his amulet pulsed brighter and brighter.. he sensed the aura from within. Nebulis??? he thought, fear forming a lump in his throat But that isn't possible! "Can- can you open this?" he asked..
(I just didn't imagine portal generators like that…. Lol…..)
Megan glanced over at him. "You mean, open the mechanism….?" She noted his worried face, and it made her just that much more concerned. "I mean… I'm not really sure if I should with a tone like that…" He sounds like… He's not sure… "But if you say so…" She went over and went to work on the… Thing. I've never seen anything like this in my life…
Skye put a hand on it and sent his consciousness inside, He sensed the aura once more, it was waning, but there. Distinct, and pulsing, and the knowledge of what it implied made Skye pale… the reports from the northern stronghold…. he pulled his hand away his face pale.. If I'm right….And that's….this is my fault!
Megan concentrated hard, but she sensed Skye's uneasiness and she glanced up. "You don't look too well…. Is… Is everything alright?"
"Something's in there…" said Skye not looking away, "And I have a bad feeling I know what…. and I'm really hoping I'm wrong…" he stepped back, "Can you get it open or not?" he asked quietly.
"I'm trying…" Megan opened the panel. "But it looks harder than I imagined…" She worked at it the best she could, just for Skye's sake. Hopefully I can get this done efficiently, or else… Who knows what'll happen?
"Just try your best," said Skye looking at the other container, "and try to work quickly" he walked over to it and sent his consciousness there too. he sensed a very different Aura, and it was also weak, weaker than the other, but it still pulsed, but only barely.
The 'quickly' gave Megan a slight scare, yet she tried to take it slowly and do it right. C'mon…. After all this taking her time, she didn't really expect to get rushed all of the sudden. "I think I might be able to open it…" She worked and worked at it, sweat running down her face from sheer nervousness. What if they can't make it because I can't open it?
Skye crouched next to her, "Don't panic yourself over this…" he said sadness in his voice because he was so sure of what was inside. "This has nothing to do with me and the others getting home, But it is important" he said slowly.
"…Well, alright then…" Megan managed to activate the main circuit board well after a little bit, and half the machine turned on. That's a relief….
She went over to the second one and began the usual work on it. Now that I know how this works…
Skye stood as the chamber opened and immediately paled and backed away when he saw the man inside…
the man had hair resemebling his own but with more shade of purple and less blue. He'd been stripped of his shirt and wore an amulet similar to Skye's and his eyes were glassy and pale and he was barely breathing as he stood there held up by various straps wires and cords, "No…" Skye paled even further before placing a hand on the greenish glass, "Freind" he mindcalled but didn't hear anything, "Please can you hear me! anything please!" tears came to his eyes as he thought about how this could have happened…. knowing that no matter how hard he tried this man was as good as dead…
Megan glanced over, hands over her mouth. What on earth….? She was confused more than ever now– all that she knew was that the man was dead…
(I assume she can see him too???)

"His life aura was drained from him…" said Skye sadly… tears coming to mind. "And the guy who brought us here is gonna pay."
"Well of course…." Megan stood up, resisting to have tears come to her eyes as she put the stuff back in the tool kit. Although she didn't know the guy, the sight of anyone dying gave her tears.
"I just wish I had been able to pay more attention to those reports…." said Skye wistfully. "I could've prevented this!" He sat down feeling horrible.
Megan wasn't really sure what to do, since it was his own problem. But on the other hand, she couldn't stand to see anyone suffer– even if it wasn't someone she knew, or even someone from another world. She wanted to say something, yet she was afraid she'd only make the issue worse for Skye. What am I supposed to do? "…er…. Now that we know what's going on…. How are we supposed to stop it?"
"We destroy this machine." Said Skye "and anything he could use to rebuild it."
“Well, I can destroy the machine….” Megan said with a tint of sorrow wavering in her voice. “But I have to make sure I won’t harm anyone besides that guy….” The more she thought about it, the more he hated this villain…
"First we need to get the other compartment open." said Skye letting his aura wander to the other presence. "I can sense someone in there, And If I'm right about what he is I might be able to save him. "
Megan got to work as per usual, with sweat running down her face. Not only was she nervous, but she was just simply tired and exhausted. But if that guy can be saved… then I’ll do anything to help!
Skye saw her fall back, "Megan!" he rushed to her, "Are you alright?!" He also sensed the sudden jolt of electricity and sensed the one aura go out, but the other got a little stronger, and he sensed a faint calling, "Megan, Can you still get the cylinder open without hurting the person inside?" he asked quietly
She let out a long breath. “I can…. but I can do only so much in a day….” Megan sighed, but got to work at the wires. C’mon…
Skye watched her carefully, "If you can't do it then don't worry about it.." he said "The last thing I need is for you to get hurt…"
“I’m fine…..” She said. “Just…. really…. tired….” She wasn’t sure exactly how late it was because they were enclosed, but she continued as to dismantle the system and got the cylinder to open up.
Skye quickly went to the cylinder as the metal lifted, sensing the aura of the girl inside he quickly drew his blades, "Megan I need you to get out of the way, this glass is enchanted to keep her in, and I'll have to use some explosives to get her out.." he tensed setting his blades onfire and reaching mentally out to the girl. he knew she was too weak to respond, but she would be able to hear him, "I'm going to get you out of there.. just hold on a little longer!" he told her.
