"Yeah, yeah, whatever…. That's what they all say…" She gave Rio a long glare and bit her lip hotly before returning to work.
Tobias smiled sheepishly. "M-Megan isn't dating anyone right now."
"Is that so….?" She muttered.
An RP with @TiramisuGrenouille !!!
"Can we get out of here? Please?" whispered Rio to Tobias, his voice low so the cashier wouldn't hear.
"We can when she's done…." He uttered back to him.
"Er… Yeah," Tobias said to her.
"Alright then…."
They paid with Megan's card and was handed the receipt. When they were on their way out, Tobias had a look at the receipt, and down near the bottom…. "Here… Look at this."
It was that girl's phone number.
"What is it?" asked Rio, puzzled by the numbers..
"Well…." He said, taking the bags on his arms. "That's that girl's phone number. It…." He tried so hard not to laugh out loud. Oh boy… "It– It means that she's interested in you."
"Uh huh…" Said Rio, "right… Uhm… I don't think her efforts are going anywhere…."
"Oh well…. She tried…. And it's not like you're gonna come back anyways." They finally got back home that afternoon, and Tobias came through the door. "You won't believe what happened…." He piled the groceries on the table, meeting Megan in the kitchen.
Rio walked in, "So uneventful day Firiko?" he asked the feathered warrior,
"Extremely uneventful" replied Firiko not taking his face out of the couch.
Megan glanced up. "What?" She glared at Tobias.
"You know that cashier that always checks out our groceries….?"
"…Yeah….?" She muttered, sipping some water.
He smiled a little. "…She thought you and Rio were dating!"
She spat out her water all over the counter. "What!?" She barked, a tad flustered.
"No offense but I have no interest in girls alright!" said Rio even more flustered than her.
Megan wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "…She was always a moron…." She growled, rubbing at her head. "….And she doesn't even know who you are, so like she'd have any idea… People can be to dumb these days…"
Tobias fell into an awkward silence as he began putting food away. …Just saying…
"What I wouldn't give for some action……" said Firiko still face first in the couch.
"We get it Firiko." said Rio exasperated, "Your bor-" he trailed off, "Uhm….. would you mind not wishing for action next time…." he said staring at the shield Skye had erected, which was now pulsing, bathing the room in violet light.
Megan cleaned the water she "spilled" and went up to her office to do some stuff.
Tobias finished putting stuff away and meandered down into the basement. …It might've been nice to get a new ball… He bit his lip, sitting down in the chair across from the TV. ….It doesn't really make much sense… If they wanted to get back, then why didn't they do so? The girl matters, but we can't have them here for too long….
Skye's shield collapsed, and he got to his feet, watching the girl. the girl suddenly gasped, when she had gotten her bearings she looked at skye, after a few moments she nodded and and sat down quietly.
"Hey Skye, What's up?" Asked Rio
"Not much, But we still need to find a way home." Replied Skye. "And doing that requires going back to that lair."
(So I'm trying to do stuff with this in the way of getting things moving along, and the first step is getting my guys back to that lair. But going back to the lair they'll need someone who understands technology, Megan is a bit too busy, and she won't let Tobias out on the streets like that. Also we need some action here, so do you have a character that would be a friend of Megan's who could randomly visit the house unannounced?)
(I'm trying…. Maybe I could. Hang on a sec…. Maybe I can get a neighbor in here… It took longer than I anticipated to get that girl under control…)
Tobias was fluffing around with stuff downstairs when he heard a harsh knock on the front door. Megan's busy, so I'll get it.
He wandered upstairs and peeked through the peephole to see their next door neighbor standing on the doorstep.
Tobias opened up the door. "Oh hi Liam!"
"Hey, Tobias–" He meandered inside, cut off by the sight of Rio, Firiko (unsure where he is), Skye and the girl all in the living room. "I see she has company…." He uttered under his breath.
(Firiko is still on the couch, so Liam won't have spotted the wings yet, but he will as soon as he comes in the living room…)
"Uhm Tobias" Skye looked at him with a bit of nervousness, before whipping around to give the girl a very harsh glare.
Rio just waved, as he shoved Firiko's wing down out of sight.
Tobias wasn't sure what to do, and shoving Liam back out would be incredibly rude…. "Well…. Um… Yeah… These are– friends from out of town."
"It's nice to meet you all…" His voice had some wavering of awkwardness to it.
The awkwardness of the room is so thick I can feel it hanging on my arms… Tobias smiled nonetheless. "So… What brings you here…?"
Liam chuckled a little. "You don't remember? We decided to have dinner here tonight a few months back."
Skye watched Tobias carefully, "Rio we need to get Firiko out of here…." he spoke to Rio worriedly, "Rio how about you go get Megan, I believe she's in her office" Said Skye.
Rio nodded and headed upstairs,
"Oh– am I here at a bad time? Is she busy….?" Liam backed up a little towards the door.
"No… I think she just had to do a few things…" Tobias said, glancing at his feet. Holy cow, this is awkward…
Megan was tippity typing the rest of some stuff when Rio came in unnoticed.
"Uh Megan?" Said Rio tensely, "You have company over."
Megan was startled – yet again – by Rio's voice. "W-What?" She got out of her office and came downstairs, only to see Liam standing at the doorway. "Oh… Hey."
"I thought you were busy," He said calmly. "Tobias said you were working upstairs when I came."
"I was… But I'm not anymore."
Tobias kind of inched away as the got into a conversation and such, catching up on each other's lives.
Firiko sat up and got to his feet as the guy went upstairs, every feather standing on end he quickly went downstairs to stay out of sight.
Skye breathed a sigh of relief as Firiko was able to get out of sight, "Well that was close…"
"So… Who's all crashin' at your house?" Liam asked after enough of ignoring the so-called elephant in the room.
"Just some friends from outta town." Megan said quickly.
"Well…. I can't wait to talk to them. They all… Sorta… Disappeared." He muttered a little bit.
Tobias went and followed Firiko down into the basement. "It's probably tough having wings like those…" He said quietly.
"Not usually" said Firiko crashing in a corner, "Sure I stick out.. But it isn't really this much of a danger…)
"Yeah… Unfortunately, Liam came over and plans on staying at least through dinner. So… You'll be down here for quite some time." Tobias sighed, shifting his weight a little. "But I think once he leaves, you can eat…. Unless you don't care…"
"I don't care…" said Firiko gloomily, "I'm just bored outta my skull, albeit it's better than nearly dying all the time."
Tobias glanced down a bit. "Well… I would go out and help you guys, but Megan's against it. And since Liam's over…" He shrugged. "I'm sorry you're so bored. It's hard when you… You don't really know what all this stuff is or what it does…."
Megan turned and went into the kitchen, and Liam followed her. "So what do you plan on cooking tonight?"
"…Chicken and rice. As usual," She washed up her hands at the sink and got a box of rice out. "Hope you're fine with that."
"Oh, of course. As long as your other guests are." He leaned against the counter.
She bit her lip. "Yes, they're fine with it," She said through clenched teeth.
"I don't think we have a right to disagree" whispered Rio to Skye..
"I would agree…" said Skye
"Hm… So… I would ask what do you wanna do…" Tobias found another ball and began kicking it around lightly. "But… Sometimes, we just should kinda chill out…" He went over to the TV on the stand and tried turning it on.
Nothing.
He cocked his head. Hm?…
"Is it supposed to do that?" asked Firiko,
Skye tensed a little as he heard something on the roof.
