Megan helped Skye out of the water and onto the sand. “Does he need CPR?” She asked tentatively, kneeling down over his body. “….To get him breathing again?”
Rio pulled himself up, his tail preventing him from standing, "Just give me a minute," he said, a blue glow surrounding his freind. Skye suddenly gasped and began coughing up water, he kept on coughing it up for a good 5 minutes, before flopping back, "and this…. is why…. I… hate… swimming….." he said between breaths…
"At least we're both alive" said Rio pushing himself back into the water.
"…. Now that we're all alive, should we go and find Firiko to put that guy out of his misery?" Asked Tobias.
Megan grabbed his shoulder. "I might, but you're gonna stay home like you're supposed to and go to school."
He frowned.
"I understand you hate it and all, but you need your education and social practice."
"Then who's gonna watch me?"
She sighed deeply. "Liam might have to."
…Not him…. He's too nosy to be a good neighbor…
Rio nodded, concentrating and morphing back to human form and coming out of the water, and then pulling Skye to his feet. "One of us would volunteer but we really should get Firiko out of there and find a way home.." said Rio carefully. "And we should do it fast before you get hurt thanks to us.." added Skye coughing a little.
"True… So…. I'll have to head back home and drop Tobias off before he gets into any more trouble…." Megan glared at the kid, but he shrugged.
"Why can't I come?" He asked, resisting against being whiny.
"It's simply not safe for you. And Liam will have to watch you to make sure you don't do anything stupid…"
Skye nodded in agreement. "Megan's right" he said "after all going to get Firiko out… well we have no idea what we're walking into"
"I assume we can go back to the house for now…" Megan muttered, heading up to the car. "We really don't have time to waste."
"….Don't you still have work today?" Tobias followed close behind.
"Yeah, but I'll have to call in and all that stuff when I get the chance and tell them I got sick or something." She rolled her eyes. I guess I have no other excuse, really….
Skye and Rio followed her back to her car. Kyara climbed into the back again as Skye and Rio got in the middle. Skye didn't wait too long before throwing himself into a mental trance to begin his search for Firiko.
"So how long was I out?" Asked Rio awkwardly.
(Don't mind me, everything is dead so I'm going around bumping everything…)
(Okey.)
“For at least an hour or so…” Megan muttered, driving on their way back home.
Tobias was a bit uneasy, as he shifted in his seat and writhed his hands continuously. How can she leave me with that guy….? I can’t stand him….
They arrived back at the house, and while Megan went into her office to make a few calls, Tobias just sat in the living room, a sense of grumpiness surrounding him. “I just don’t understand why she doesn’t trust me to be alone.”
"Just be glad you weren't Firiko over the last few days…" said Rio, "I mean, he usually never even sleeps inside, nevermind living there. "
(Unsure what that means, but okay.)
Tobias kept quiet. Well, if she wants to have someone watch me, I wouldn't want it to be someone I don't trust.
Megan finished making her calls and all that to work and Tobias' school,coming back out into the living room. "Alright. I have everything taken care of, and I should be ready to go."
"You don't have to come Megan," said Skye, leaning against the wall. "We've caused enough trouble already"
"If you insist. But I needed to take a day off anyways." Megan shrugged.
Tobias let out a light sigh of relief, but wanted the best for Skye and Rio. "If you think you'll really need her, then she should go with you guys."
"We should be fine" said Rio heading for the door. Kyara following him quietly. Skye nodded, "Our biggest issue is saving Firiko, then figuring out what this guy wants" he said as he headed out. silently wondering how he could figure out how to use the technology in Marceo's lab…
Megan smiled. "Then I suppose you should be on your way."
Skye nodded, heading out the door. Two jumps and he was on the roof, Using magic, Kyara and Rio joined him, the three heading off at a jog.
Firiko, watched Marceo tensely. he was being held in a contraption the had him by the wrists and ankles. but his wings were still free. he batted Marceo's hand away from his leg with one wing. glaring at him silently.
Megan sighed.
"What's wrong….?" Tobias looked at her.
She sat back, running a sweaty hand through her hair. "I've honestly been never so… Scrambled in my life… Juggling your care with work and Skye's issue… I deserve a break…" I never intended on working today anyways.
"Maybe you should get a massage or go to a spa up in town or something." Tobias said a little quietly.
"That'd sound like a good idea if I didn't have to watch you to make sure you don't give yourself another electrical shock…"
Skye carefully approached the lock on the old hideout, knowing both Firiko and Marceo were there thanks to his mental probes. Finding that the door was unlocked he carefully crept down the stairs, Rio and Kyara following.
Tobias held back from grunting. He may have been a bit clumsy at times, but there was a difference between that and being straight up stupid. "Why is it that you can't trust me alone?"
Megan shook her head. There are some things he shouldn't know…. "There's reasons. But… It's mainly because I'm afraid that…. Well, you know how much crime goes about in this city."
He nodded.
"And I really can't let anything happen to you when all you needed was someone to keep an eye on you."
Skye stopped when he saw Firiko, seeing how he was held in that contraption, his shirt lying in pieces to one side, revealing the feathers on his back where the wings sprouted from his shoulders and spread to his lower back. Rio watched as Skye drew a blade, the metal hissing as it came free of the scabbard. The man in the weird suit froze, "I know you're there!" he said loudly, "And I wont release your friend without getting what I need."
Megan got up and left, and Tobias headed outside to play…. By himself.
It just so happened that Liam was out and watering his flowers when he saw him. "Hey– shouldn't you be in school right now?"
Tobias shrugged, nearly ignoring him. "I guess not. Megan pulled me out because I had a doctors appointment," he lied without a stuttering break.
"I see. Well then…" He nodded to him. "….Say, I saw your other friends head out in quite a hurry. When do you think they'll be back?"
Tobias read his expression and recognized that tone of voice, and he didn't like it. And judging from what he was doing the last time he was around her, he knew it was gonna add up to that. "Very very soon," He stated placidly.
(Oh wow)
Skye carefully drew his other blade and stepped into the open, motioning for the others to stay put.
"What do you want with my freind" he asked.
"I need something from him"
"What?" asked Skye.
"power" said the man, turning to face him. "Oh and I'm sorry about your other freind, I can help you find a cure for him if you need, I didn't know that this would hurt him that much" he held up a small spear.
"My friend will be fine," said Skye, keeping his tone level, "I just want to know why you killed that man, tried to kill the girl, and why you kidnapped me and my freinds,"
"I wasn't trying to kill them" replied the man calmly, "I was trying to work with them, and figure out how it is possible for you" he gestured to Skye, "To do the things you do, And why some of you are different from others." he said
"So you kidnap us and experiment against our will?" said Skye questioningly, Hey maybe he can be reasonable he thought
"I never meant to kidnap you," said the man, "Other energies coming from this," he pointed to a small crystal, "Brought you here. The girl came first, when I saw the power she had I wanted to know what it was, I never meant to hurt her, any harm that came to her that I was aware of was small and from my own self defense"
("Oh wow" what?)
Liam chuckled. "Well, alright then…. If you say so…"
Tobias went out on the sidewalk and went for a small stroll. I dislike him so much… He couldn't just hate Liam– he did care for the kid, after all. I just wish he'd move away or find someone else….
(Intrigue on Liam,)
"Trapping her in a tube and draining her life energy is self defense?" asked Skye, his tone flat.
"Draining her life energy??" asked the man, "Oh no, I simply meant to implement the excess energies surrounding her, same with that man."
"Maybe you should stop messing around with things you don't understand" Skye suggested gently.
"But I wish to figure out how to use them!" said the man, "This power of yours can do a great many things, and it's only natural to want to see what more it can do!"
"But what happens when you seriously hurt someone? Or do something even worse?" asked Skye taking a step closer, "What happens when you start messing around with the auras that control your world, or others? This is just my personal opinion, but it's clear to me that you have no Idea what you are doing."
"Controlling worlds? dear me, I just want to see if we can use this new power to our advantage!" said Marceo.
"Doing so without knowing the consquences can be disastrous" said Skye as a counter. "What if you accidentally awaken some long dead evil? Or destroy an entire universe? You simply don't understand just how much you could mess things up, well meaning or no!"
"But think of the possibilities!" said the man, "People are no longer dying of disease, children seeing the wonders of the world in new ways! Being able to use an unlimited power source to travel to the stars! I can only imagine what your world must be like compared to ours, to see how magic like this has changed it for the better"
"Magic doesn't always make things better!" Said Skye, "You have no Idea how much I would rejoice if there was a way to destroy magic. If I could do that then maybe I could protect my younger brother, Maybe I could free him from the burden of guarding a power he never asked for, Maybe I myself could be finally seen as normal!"
"And maybe my brother wouldn't have to live with the pain of being something he didn't ask to be.." said Firiko,
"Our lives are dictated by Magic," said Skye, "And most often for worse, It was because of magic that an entire kingdom fell. And it's because of magic that those like me and my freind there," he gestured to Firiko, "Are hunted, And it's because of magic, that my brothers, and my sister, lost their parents and were forced into a life of just barely surviving, throughout their childhood, and because of magic, that I cannot ever rest, lest my own power get out of hand, and hurt people"
(Oh noes)
Tobias wandered down the sidewalk, and was minding his own business when he bumped into someone. "Excuse me…."
He was a few feet away when a hand grabbed his shoulder and yanked him around, having a good hard stare at him.
Tobias shuttered as he scanned him. "Um… I'm sorry…."
There was some sort of expression between surprise and disgust in his eyes, but it left Tobias hanging. Did he know this guy? He seemed a tad familiar in a way that he couldn't describe. "…Do I know you…?" He asked, being rude unintentionally.
(? Who dis guy??)
"Well maybe your people just haven't figured out how to control it just yet" said the man stubbornly. Skye warped up next to him, deliberately letting his power flare around him so the man could feel it. "Then let me show you how much magic has impacted out lives for the worse, and show you just how much damage you could do if you continue" he said
"How?" asked the man, watching him carefully and watching the auras around him.
"Kyara!" Skye called for the girl they'd rescued.
She came out quietly, not saying a word.
"I'm going to release your powers now," said Skye, not taking his eyes of Marceo. "And I need you to anchor me"
she nodded silently, as Skye's aura enveloped her amulet, resulting in a small flash and a small smirk, as Skye visibly relaxed his entire body.
"Now Kyara" he said, a note of warning in his voice. She responded by forming an aura lashing between them, and falling into a small trance.
Skye then reached out to Marceo, deliberately summoning his aura as his fingers touched Marceo's forehead.
(Oooah)
The man glared at him.
"Um…." Tobias muttered. "Can I help you….?"
He released his hand from his shoulder and hustled off before another word was said. I wonder who that guy was… Tobias got a sudden shiver and heades back home where Megan was making something to eat. "Hey Megan?" He asked.
"….Yes….?" She answered, eyes still on her hands.
"Do you know a guy….." And he wend on to describe the guy in incredible detail.
She gasped, but didn't say anything. What on earth is he doing around here?…
(WHO IS HE?!)
Marceo was flung, it seemed into a city, he was walking down a narrow street, filled with people. He was also not in control of his body, which was in turn not his own. Where- the question was cut off by a quiet voice in the back of his head, "Relax, this is all an illusion," said Skye, not wanting to explain that he was putting the guy in his POV in his memories.
**(I don't wanna try and describe all of this in story detail, so here's a point form)*
The boy traveled to a small house,
the house was broken into
the boy crumpled as he searched for his mother desperately
fastforward a year and the boy is fighting off some men who were useing magic to hurt another
the boy saying that he never wants to use magic
fast forward a few more years, (The kid is about 16)
he is learning he can shift to wolf form, and can use a powerful aura
fastforward again to a moment where he loses control and nearly hurts someone who he cares about
fast forward again where he is training and nearly destroys the whole complex
fast forward even more to when he uses his power to fight someone and shield a goldenhaired/goldenwinged boy (With resemblance to Firiko)
useing his power to augement the other boy's,
using his power to fight a giant evil shadow
being unable to control it and nearly hurting family,
(This is a big abbreiviation and feel free to ask about any of them)
(Hmmm okey.)
Tobias waited a moment as Megan just sat there.
"Megan…?"
She stopped what she was doing and went outside to have a peek for herself when the man was standing at the door. She flinched back with shock as he stood there.
"Wh-What do you want?" Megan stammered, steamed up. "I don't know what you're even doing here!"
The man shrugged. "You know, just because I gave you Tobias' ownership doesn't mean I can't stop seeing you."
"But you threw him at me deliberately just because of your own mistake."
He rolled his eyes sheepishly. "Maybe if I didn't have my own daughter as my assistant, then that mistake never would've been made."
Megan flushed, her face growing hot.
