Megan stood back up on her wobbly legs, wiping her eyes with her trembling hands. How could I let this happen??…. He was here…. right here, in my house….
Skye suddenly stopped, then ran for a nearby alley. Seeing a shady guy in a suit he stopped and faced him. "Hey! You there!" he called out to the guy grabbing his shoulder.
"what are you?!" the man stared when he saw Skye's hair and eyes,
"I'm looking for a kid. About this tall…" he proceeded to describe Tobias in detail, "have you seen him?"
Megan wept uncontrollably. Why….? She knew she should’ve been helping, but with the brick of stress that knocked her in the head, she was still trying to reassure herself.
The man who took Tobias locked the door to the room and shut the curtains on the window as he layed the child on the table in the middle of the room. Perfect…. Now it’s time to see what’s really in this robot….

Skye glared at the man, "Answer me!"
The man sighed, "Don't get all worked up" he said, "I saw the kid earlier, but some weirdo snatched him off the streets."
"How long ago?! Where did this weirdo take him?! Can you give me a description?!" Skye burst out with questions.
"About an hour ago I saw this kid walking through looking kinda down in the dumps. Some weirdo, Tall, skinny, long coat, came up behind him and pressed the back of his neck. The kid passed out, and a van pulled up. The man pulled the kid in and they were gone." said the street thug.
"Where did they go?!" demanded Skye,
"They were headed for down town." said The thug, gaping as Skye lept off a dumpster ad up to the roof as Soon as he had the info.
"Rio! Get back to Megan's! he called out as he opened a portal back to Megan's living room, popping up there a few moments later.
Megan was still feeling the worst, crying and weeping. "Out o-of all the things…" She stammered, a flush coming to her face. I must look terrible….
The man turned on a light. It was extremely dim, and didn't help him much in seeing him. I hate this part of town… He growled a little. I would have a nice perfect lab, if it wasn't for that damned Steve Moin!!! He pounded a fist. Either way…. I have his little boy here right on my table…. So I can make him to absolutely anything…
Skye warped back to Megan's a concerned look ckming over him when he saw her face. "Megan…" he was worried about her, and Tobias. "I found a lead on Tobias."
Rio also chose that moment to pop back into the room.
Megan wiped her face with some tissue before looking off into space. "But what I need to know is why…." She slumped, eyes wet and raw. "…It… It's n-not normal for him t-to just wander like that…"
"He was pretty out of it last time we saw him." said Rio gently, "He's probably been wanting to help, but felt useless.."
"Rio's right," said Skye, "But at the moment we have bigger problems."
Megan shook her head, burying her head in her hands. "I just don't know what to do anymore…." I really have no idea why they're still here…. They should be home by now…. But…. I guess something has to be holding them back….
"Megan," Skye knelt next to her, not wanting to upset her more, but knowing he had to tell her… "I think Tobias was kidnapped off the streets."
"Kidnapped!!?" She barked. "After I thought he had just wandered off he got kidnapped too!!" Megan hid her face in her arms. "It's so unbelievable….."
Skye was a bit taken off guard by her response, but managed to remain calm. "Megan do you know of anyone who may have wanted to harm Tobias? Someone who may have known his secret?" asked Skye carefully.
"Well…." She sniffled, refusing to take her face from her arms. "Not really….. I…. I think S-Steve had some r-rivalry with someone…. But…. I think he k-knows more about that than I do…."
"Any chance we can get ahold of him?" asked Skye,
"Sure… H-hang on…." She was still a bit choked up, and Megan picked up the phone to dial Steve's number. She waited a minute or two when the phone started buzzing. "What the….?" She glanced down and grunted. The line has been cut….
"Is something wrong?" asked Skye, instantly alert.
"The telephone's wire was cut. By what, I have no idea…." She wiped her eyes with her sleeve and stood up. "But I do have another way…." Megan grabbed her cell phone from her bag and called up Steve. However, although the network in the house was perfect, he still hadn't picked up. I don't understand…
"Any idea where he might be right now?" asked Skye "At this point I think it might be best just to find him in person."
"He might be at his place, I don't know… But I need to talk to him!" Megan said, hands shaking. I don't know how all of thid could've happened so quick….
Skye sighed, reaching out his mental abilities he managed to track down Steve within minutes. "he's at the lab" said Skye, summoning his auras and opening a portal to go there, carefully guiding Megan through to end up in the room that Steve was in, just a few feet away.
Steve turned around, working on Tobias' pet when he suddenly jumped. "What the– since when were you two in the room?"
"Steve!!!" Megan barked, grabbing his shoulders. "Tobias was kidnapped!!"
Rio suddenly warped into the room, not really caring that Steve was watching.
"As far as I can tell whoever took Tobias knows about Tobias secret" said Skye firmly, ignoring Steve's confusion on how they got there. Especially since Steve was between them and the door.
Steve exchanged glances with all of them. "Wh…. He was just… Taken?"
"He got out of my house and wandered off," Megan said, somber. "Is there….. Some kind of person who would want Tobias for any reason?…."
Skye watched him carefully, in case he made a move against the three of them.
Steve stood, staring into space for a moment. "A – Er – Anyone could kidnap a kid…" His eyes began to water. "But…. There was always one person who was jealous of my work… I think…."
"Who was that?" Megan asked, begging.
He shifted, still a bit teared up. "I believe his name was… Ken… Ken something….."
"This wasn't just anyone" said Skye firmly, "I managed find someone who saw it happen, he didn't give me much be he did say that the guy who kidnapped Tobias pressed the back of his neck, and that Tobias seemed to pass out." he explained.
Steve growled. "Of course…. The only other person who knows is my old co-worker…." He scratched his head. "I think…. I think he got fired after getting caught using funds for his own good… But either way, where did you see him get taken?" This pet can wait…. Tobias can't!
"I didn't see him," said Skye, "But the guy who did said that they took a van headed down town."
"Then I guess we're going down town then!…." Steve held up a finger. "…After I lock the lab of course…." He locked the door from the inside and he nodded to the two of them. "I suppose I shouldn't p-put the pressure on you…. But you could get us there faster.. Right?" He wiped at his face.
Skye nodded, taking a location from Steve's mind and opening a portal that took the four of them to a rooftop in that area.
