Davin eventually spoke up. "What time do you want to leave for lunch?" He asked, looking over at Tohru.

"We can leave whenever is best for you, with the interview and all," Tohru replied, "I wouldn't need but another minute or two to get ready and get out the door."
He looked back down to his drawing, brow furrowed, and erased a few lines.

Davin nodded, checking the time. "Maybe we can leave in about ten minutes?" He suggested, looking at Tohru with a soft smile, stretching.

"Yeah, works for me," Tohru replied, finishing what he was doing and closing the sketchbook.
He stood up and walked over to the bathroom to brush his teeth before they left.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin got up, brushing his own teeth when Tohru was finished, then grabbing his cloak and slinging it around his body.

Tohru put on his shoes and turned to Davin as he put on his cloak.
"You ready?" he asked, "I am whenever you are."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded. "Yeah. I'm ready." He replied, smiling as he opened up the door.

Tohru followed out, buzzing with excitement, or at least something close. It was kind of like a date, wasn't it? He hadn't actually been on one in several months. Hadn't really hung out with anyone at all, even as friends. His work kept him from forming much of an attachment to anyone at all.
Tohru locked the door behind them, and he stayed next to Davin as they walked.

Davin smiled a little. "Did you have a specific restaurant in mind, or should I pick?" He asked, looking over at Tohru.

group

"There are some places close by I was thinking of, but you can choose which one," Tohru replied, "What're you in the mood for?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Oh, anything. Just nothing raw." He replied, laughing a little bit. "I'd rather not eat any raw food if I can help it."

group

"That's not a problem," Tohru agreed, "Do you mean like raw meats, though? Or like plants too? Yknow, just so I know for future meals."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Raw meats, yeah! Raw plants are fine." He laughed a little bit. "I promise, raw plants are just fine."

group

"Ah, makes sense. I don't exactly eat raw meats myself. Sometimes fish, but rarely even that. Doesn't sit right with me."
He shrugged.
"There's a little corner diner down there, if you wanted to try that."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Alright, good." He glanced down in the direction of the diner. "Sure, sounds good." He agreed, heading in that direction.

group

"Alright, then," Tohru said, kind of leading the way as he walked by Davin.
"I hope your interview goes well later. I'm happy for you, yknow? And that place you were talking about is pretty close to my work, too."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Me too. And yeah, it is. We can probably walk to work together, if our shifts are at the same time." He replied, looking at Tohru.

group

"Yeah, I'd like that," Tohru agreed, "I can have weird shifts, but when I don't, I'd be glad to."
He gave a little smile to the other. It was nice actually having someone to spend time with.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah." He agreed. "It'll be great." He smiled back, looking over at Tohru and then back at the street ahead of them.

group

"I've been walking part of the way home with one of my coworkers, actually. It's definitely a lot more comfortable than going alone. And it'll be you, so even better," Tohru added.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah, that sounds great." He agreed, smiling a little bit at Tohru. "As long as our shifts line up, I mean."

group

After a bit of a walk, Tohru and Davin arrived at the place. It was a small corner diner- a seat-yourself kind of place, but with little screens on the tables where you could order your meal. It didn't appear large from the outside, but the building went further back than expected.
"Back corner, maybe?" Tohru suggested.
Usually he would've opted for window seats, but those were taken. In fact, the place was surprisingly bustling.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Sure." Davin replied, leading the way and sitting down, picking up one of the screens to look at the menu.

group

Tohru ordered himself an iced coffee and a sandwich on the screen, then waited for Davin to do the same, placing his hands on his knees and tapping nervously.
For as much as it wasn't a date- just two guys getting lunch- it sure felt like one.
Their day at the museum, he hadn't quite caught feelings yet, at least not as strongly as he had now.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin ordered a sandwich and blended coffee of his own, and paid, then moved out of the way to wait for their order to be ready. Was this a date? He didn't know.

group

A server brought out both of their drinks and set them down.
Davin swirled the ice in his cup a bit and tilted his head.
"So, um… did you ever do anything like this before? I mean, like, with other people?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Like…what?" He asked, a little uncertain what Tohru meant. Meals? Yes, he'd had meals with other people before.

group

"Like… um, just going out for lunch with another person," Tohru replied, a little sheepishly, "Because I will admit, I have always kept a bit more to myself. Didn't do things like this often, if ever."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I have, yeah." He replied. "Mostly for dates. Not really as…friends." he shrugged faintly, smiling a little as he took a bite of his sandwich.

group

"Ah, I gotcha," Tohru added, "I had lunch with a couple of clients. Strictly professional. And dates, at one time."
Tohru kind of hid behind his straw, taking a sip of his drink. This was definitely as friends. Davin had just said it himself.
