Davin pulled out the tweezers, taking a deep breath, and began to try and get the bullet out.

Tohru squirmed slightly at first, groaning in pain through the strap in his mouth. The pain was radiating up his side and into his arm.
He did everything in his power to still his body. Tohru was sweating profusely, and his skin had grown very pale already.
Davin moved to pin Tohru down, frowning in concentration.
group
Tohru managed to hold more still with some of Davin's weight on him, not just because he was being restrained. The gentle pressure also comforted him.
Yet, the pain was still terrible. Tohru didn't know it, but the bullet had hit the outer part of his liver, which was what caused the pain to radiate so strongly. As such, when the bullet shifted when Davin moved it, the wound started bleeding more heavily again.
Davin grimaced when the wound began to bleed again, but managed to pull the bullet out, throwing it to the side. "Shit, okay, I got the bullet out."
group
Tohru pulled the strap from his mouth, gasping loudly in pain. He clasped a hand back over the wound, desperately trying to staunch the bleeding.
"I'm sorry… Fucking hell… I'm so, so sorry…" he muttered, leaning his head over onto Davin's shoulder.
"Stop moving, I'm not done." he pulled out a tool. "I can cauterize the bleeding. Anything more complicated than that, you'd have o go to the hospital."
group
Tohru gave a weak nod, breathing heavily down the other’s neck.
"Okay, okay… I can… I can handle that," Tohru sighed, mostly to reassure himself.
He leaned back again, laying his body down across the sofa and placing the strap back between his teeth.
Davin grabbed another tool, taking a deep breath and then getting to work to cauterize the wound.
group
Tohru's fingers dug into the couch cushions as the tool burned into his flesh. Tears streamed down his face, cutting streaks through the bloodstains.
As Davin kept going, his grip grew weak, and he had more trouble fighting back than before. His breathing became more erratic and shallow as time passed. He was so tired.
Davin knew he had to start at the deepest part, so he did, though he winced as he did so. He knew how much pain this was causing Tohru.
group
Tohru whimpered, growing weaker by the moment. His eyes started to flutter closed, even though he was fighting to keep them open. Even his jaw's grip on the strap slackened some from the intense weakness that rushed over his entire body.
Tohru was in a cold sweat. His cheeks were cold, his fingers and toes cold. His vision was blurry and he felt like he was listening to Davin's voice as a mere echo through a tunnel.
Davin glanced up at Tohru's face, swallowing softly. "Tohru, I need you to keep your eyes open." he said, a hint of panic entering his tone. "Okay? Look at me, Tohru, look at me. Please?"
group
Tohru forced his eyes open, giving a weak nod and a soft, "mhm."
He flexed his fingers slightly, trying to do something to keep himself alert. Tohru rubbed his forehead with the other hand, only succeeding in smearing his own blood everywhere.
"Thank you." he said softly, still working on cauterizing the wound.
group
Tohru cried out, teeth clamping down harder on the strap again. He panted harshly. It was getting harder to even breathe.
He winced at Tohru's cry, but continued to work.
group
Tohru could feel himself fading fast. He let out a few more short breaths, fighting to keep his eyes opened until he absolutely couldn't anymore.
Davin, nearly done but knowing it was dangerous for Tohru to go to sleep, slapped him across the face. He hated to do so, but he needed Tohru to stay awake.
group
Tohru seemed to react slightly, but he could not fully wake himself. He weaved in and out of consciousness, not fully aware of what was happening.
He cursed under his breath, and smacked him again, harder. He wasn't hitting Tohru because he wanted to, but because he needed Tohru to stay awake.
group
Even the second time, Tohru didn't react much. He was barely clinging on to consciousness, aware but not fully awake. He was almost completely unresponsive.
Davin hissed between his teeth. "Fuck it." he bent and pressed a kiss to Tohru's cheek, figuring that that ight at least shock him a little bit. Maybe. Hopefully, because otherwise he was out of ideas.
group
Tohru seemed to react a bit. He was aware of the kiss- he just thought it was a fever dream. His eyes fluttered a bit, and he seemed to be awake, sort of. Just not enough to fully speak or respond.
Davin sighed faintly. Maybe that was enough. He was almost done cauterizing the wound, in any case. So he went back to that, doing his best to finish quickly.
group
Tohru flinched very slightly at the burning, but he couldn't bring himself to fully move. His breathing has become much more erratic and painful. He thought for sure this was it.
Davin finished up the cauterizing, and set the tool aside quickly, and began to bandage the wound to protect it as it healed.
group
Tohru, halfway awake, tried to remove the strap from his mouth, but his hands were shaking too badly, and he could barely lift his arm. He let out a muffled groan, not sure how to ask for help. Once again, he was fighting to keep his eyes open.
Davin reached out, taking the strap from Tohru's mouth. "Hey." he said softly. "How are you feeling? Because we've got to get out of here."
group
Tohru tried to speak, but could only get out a weak, "How…?"
In his current state, Tohru could barely lift his own limbs. He wasn't even sure he should be awake- or alive, for that matter. His whole body was a bloody mess, his skin was almost the color of paper, and he was absolutely drenched in sweat. Not to mention the shaking. The cold. The absolute ordeal that even just breathing was. He didn't think he was going to make it home.
