(Nice)
Marco yelped as the other tossed him across the room, landing on his side with a low groan. Wincing as he got back to his paws, he shook himself off, ignoring the fact that that was gonna leave bruises. Focusing back on the other, he shifted again, this time into a husky, his size much large, though the fact that he was underweight was more evident this time, he was still much more menacing as he approached again, glaring at the other, baring his teeth and letting out a low growl.
Another random quest, (GAY) (O/O) CLOSED
"Hmm. A shifter?" Oci murmured to himself. He adjusted his stance and flung his hand towards the husky. Shadowy grey spikes peeled off from the shadows in the room and shoot towards the dog. They appeared to simply be shadows, but there was something about them that said they would hurt if they touched you.
Marco backed away a little bit, knowing that any injury was going to cost him seriously. Even a papercut could mean infection or sickness, and ultimately death, especially with the cold weather approaching, as it was already late fall. Carefully he shifted into a larger cat, a tiger to be exact. growling softly. Give me the scroll he thought, tail lashing behind him. He couldn't speak in animal form, so negotiations were nearly impossible for him to start off, and he wasn't about to shift into human form.
"Just leave, shifter," Oci called, his voice soft and sweet. "I don't want to kill you, but I will if I have to." Most of that was a lie– he couldn't care less if he had to kill someone, but it would most likely attract attention. Oci took a small step towards the case. He was close enough that he could take the scroll, which meant he was almost home free.
Marco growled in response, I won't leave! I need that scroll! he thought, wishing he had a way to tell him that without shifting back. Suddenly he shifted, turning into a small chipmunk and racing for the pedestal, swerving wildly to avoid any attacks.
Oci started as the tiger suddenly disappeared. He looked back and grabbed the scroll, clutching it tightly in his hand. Oci scanned the floor, looking for something coming towards him, then decided that wouldn't be good for him. He started running back to his window, calling the shadows to cloak him.
Marco raced towards him, shifting into a lion as he tackled the other, aiming to get his fangs against the other's throat so he wouldn't attack, his ribs showing underneath the thin fur tail lashing. I need that scroll you idiot! he thought.
Oci crashed to the ground, the scroll still clutched in his hand. He quickly stuffed the scroll into his pocket and pulled a knife from his belt. Oci struggled to get out of the lion's grip, trying to avoid the lion's teeth. "What the Ed do you want with the scroll?" He hissed, trying to get the knife into a good position to stab the lion.
(I gtg soon)
Marco growled lowly, pinning his shoulders with his paws, before shifting back, turning out to be a good looking dark skinned male, his mid length hair tied back in a ponytail underneath his jacket. "I need it so I can take down the king, now hand it over." his voice was firm, though he couldn't help the hint of fear in his voice.
(Same.)
"Oh, the shifter speaks!" Oci laughs softly. "Wait, did you say you need it to take down the king?" He asked, lowering the knife slightly. "Well, what a coincidence."
Marco froze when the other mentioned coincidence. "What do you mean coincidence?" he asked, though his grip didn't slacken. "What do you want with the scroll?"
"Well, I want the scroll to kill the king." Oci twisted his neck to look over his shoulder. "So." He was itching to get this shifter away from him, but he resisted. After all, the shifter might be of some use to him. "Would you mind getting off of me? You're going to crush the scroll."
Marco hummed softly, taking a moment to think it over, though he didn't move, only lightening his grip a little, but only a little.
"Oh, come on." Oci rolled his eyes. "You mistrust me that much that you'll let the thing you want be destroyed instead of letting me go? That's not a very smart move."
"Yeah well I also don't wanna die myself." he said flatly, "Now how do I know you're not gonna kill me?"
"I promise I won't." Oci said, carefully sliding the knife back into its sheath. "Look. No weapons." He held his hands out to either side and wiggled them.
Marco huffed softly, then moved away from the other, scooting back out of reach, taking a wary defensive stance.
"Alright, then." Oci pulled himself to his feet and turned to face the shifter. His face was mostly hidden in shadow, except for his mouth, which curved into a small smile. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the scroll. "Ah, good. It's still intact."
Marco had pulled the hood of his oversized hoodie up and down to cover his face, not wanting to be seen, though he didn't have shadow abilities. Silently, he waited for the other's move, tense.
"So, my dear shifter friend. Why do you want to kill the king?" Oci asked, turning the scroll around in his gloves hands. "And what made you think this," he held up the scroll, "would help you?"
"That scroll leads to a powerful artifact that can be used to take him down," he said flatly, "And my reasons are personal, and none of your concern." His eyes flicked to the other's face, and the scroll as he tried to figure out a way to grab it.
"Yes, it does." Oci nodded, turning the scroll over in his hand again. "Do you know what the artifact is called? And what it is? Probably not, unless you've already read this, and I guessing you haven't." He tilted his head slightly to the left. "Wow, personal reasons. Imagine that."
Marco smirked, "Actually I might know more than you about that stupid thing." he said softly, "For one I know it's called the Alcari Staff." he huffed softly, "But I need that scroll to get to it!" He growled softly, moving to the side, slowly, trying to find a way to get it from him, "What are your reasons?"
"Hmm, interesting." Oci shrugged. "So, maybe you do need it. But I'm sure there's a solution that doesn't involve me giving it to you." He laughed softly. "Oh, my reason is pure boredom. Just something to do, you know?"
"Boredom?!?" Marco was stunned by his answer, Man I have lives to save! he growled softly, "You want this because you're bored?!" He sighed, shifting his weight, thinking.
"Well, yes. I also hate the king. A lot." Oci smirked. "It's a win-win situation. The king dies and I don't stay bored." He narrowed his eyes at the shifter, sure he was going to try something.
(Just btw, I'm gonna be gone for most of the day.)
(Coolio)
Marco growled softly in frustration, not sure how else to handle this. Then, it came to him. "I think I've got an even better idea…" he murmured, "How about we team up? Get the artifact together."
"Team up?" Oci exclaimed, raising his eyebrows. "Well, actually, that might be a good idea." He paused, thinking. "A shifter and me together would be very hard to beat. But, are you going to stab me in the back the first chance you get?"
"I won't, as long as you won't." he said flatly. "And lose the ego." he added flatly, taking a less defensive stance, though he was still wary.
"Oh, don't worry. I won't." Oci said, smiling at him "What do you mean, ego?" He asked, frowning lightly.
