Sage nodded. "Okay…"

“You’ll probably be fine though,” Tolly assured. “Flora and Sequoia are fighting right now so she won’t be around and Fey’s pretty tame around company.”

"What the hell are they fighting over?"

“Well, Flora and Koya have been dating in everything but name for forever, but Flora just realized how serious things were, panicked, and went out in a date with some chick. Koya was pissed so she confronted Flora about it and it blew up and now they’re not speaking.”

"Yikes." She muttered.

Tolly nodded. “They’re obviously going to make up, but right now our friend group’s split in half and it’s a mess.”

Sage hissed. "Ya sure you want me in that?"

"Don't worry," Tolly assured "you'll be a-okay. I'm only introducing you to one half so that way we can avoid drama. Mostly."

She smiled slightly. "If you're sure…"

"I'm always sure, Flowergirl. Just trust me." Tolly gave her a winning smile. "You do trust me, right?"

"Of course I do." She said, looking up.

Tolly brightened noticeably. "Thank you, Sage. I'm glad I'm worthy of that to you. Um… is there anything else you wanna know?"

"Not that I can think off." She said, shrugging.

"Great! I'll text 'em after you leave." Tolly cleared his place, reaching over to grab Sage's empty plate.

"Okay!" She said, standing. "Here, I'll get it."

Tolly shook his head. "I'm the host, Sage! Let me do my job and clean up after you."

Sage raised her arms in surrender. "Sorry…"

"I'm just trying to be nice, Honey Bunny," Tolly bumped her with his hip. "You should try it sometime."

"Hey, I'm plenty nice!" She said, glaring half heatedly.

"Liar. I am a kind, charming friend- the peak of all humanity, really- and all you do is make fun of me for being a dumbass."

"I state only the truth." She said, crossing her arms.

"Nuh-uh!" Tolly protested, closing the dishwasher. "I have common sense and intelligence to spare."

"Suuuuuuuuureeeeeeeeeeeeeee…"

"Don't you 'suuuuurrrreeeee' me, Sage! I'm being 100% truthful, and you know it. You can fucking fight me if you think I'm lying."

"Not worth it." She said, laughing.

Tolly laughed as well. "Wimp!"

"I know when to hold back!" She said, biting her lip.

"Sure you do, Ms 'I drank dish soap on a dare'," Tolly shot back, plopping down on the sofa.

"You're the one who dared me!"

"Jokingly!"
