(No problem!)

Marcus knew all of the best places to get around. Years of working with the gang had given him at least that. The narrow alleyways were perfect.

Well, until you stumble across a rather beaten male laying in the dead center of one.

He bent down, noting the strange hair color of the male along with the large wings upon his back. He looked nearly the same age as Marcus, but far more muscular.

Firiko groaned slightly, the gash on his side didn't help the searing pain in his wing after being shot down. Stupid hunters… he thought, trying to move to get to his feet.

group

“Don’t move.” He commanded upon seeing how bad the wound really was. “What’s your name?”

Marcus very gently scooped the male into his arms, studying his face.

Firiko's immediate response was to tense and attempt to move away, hissing in pain as his wing was moved. His good wing, luckily, was the one that was pressed against the other's chest, having been curled into himself. His other wing stretched out a bit, too painful to move. "F-Firiko…" he choked out, trying to ignore the pain in his wing, and the fear of the stranger.

group

“I’m Marcus.” He murmured. He flashed a kind smile, but his bruised and scarred face was a little bit intimidating. “Keep speaking with me.”

The only reason the human was doing this was so the other could turn his mind away from the pain. “My apartment is just up ahead. Do you live here?”

The walk wasn’t a far one, and Marcus was very careful to keep his patient stable.

Firiko didn't know whether to trust this guy or not. "I-I'm not f-from here…" he said, focusion on staying calm and breathing, glad to feel that his blade was still in it's sheath, which was situated between his wings.

group

“Ah… don’t go into the alleyways. They’re not safe.” He said, blushing lightly when he realized it was probably too late to say that.

Soon the two were walking into a rather small apartment building and entering a door on the second floor. The small place smelled of citrus and cinnamon.

The injured male was placed on the couch before Marcus disappeared to get a first aid kit. When he returned, he kneeled in front of the other. “Let me see your wound.”

Firiko whimpered again, still nervous as he carefully stretched out his injured wing, revealing a couple of arrow wounds, and a gash from a sword on his side. He'd been fighting, focused on his other side, and accidentally let his guard down.

(I promise I'm not usually this slow!!)

group

(You’re alright!! I’m in class so it’s fine!)

Marcus frowned, very gently holding the others wing. “Can I ask what happened?” He asked, biting his tongue. He wanted nicotine badly.

But his priority was this winged male. “I’m going to clean them out. Anything I need to know?”

"Hunters…" he said, forcing himself not to freak out completely. He winced when his wing moved again, many of his feathers twisted and bent out of place. Firiko wrapped his good wing around himself, wanting to curl up and hide.

(Thanks!)

(Np!)

Marcus bit his lip, watching Firiko’s face. He was quite handsome, but Marcus had to force his gayness down for a bit as he began straightening feathers and using hydrogen peroxide to clean out the wounds. He wiped away blood and loose feathers, collecting a rather large pile of the feathers.

“These are so pretty, it’s making me sad seeing how many are falling out.” He said softly, clicking his teeth as he smoothed out a few more feathers. “I promise I’m not going to hurt you, by the way. I should have said that before I brought you into my house.”

Firiko nodded, still nervous, and understandably so. His wing quivered a bit as the other tended to it. He managed to look over at the other, studying his features in an attempt to distract himelf from pain.

Marcus’s long, thin face was scrunched up in concentration. He moved to the big wound on the males side, gently pushing the rag he was using to clean out the wounds. “Are you ok?”

Firiko wasn't sure how to answer that, after all, he clearly wasn't okay. In fact he was effectively handicapped, due to his injured wing being not much more than deadweight.

group

Marcus blushed again, rubbing the back of his neck. “Forget that sorry. Does your wing feel a little better? I can try and find something to sling it with so it’s not just dragging around.” He murmured, grumbling to himself as he stood to grab some bandages for Firiko’s side. He left the room again, returning with what looked to be an old shirt and a roll of bandages.

“Let’s get you patched up. Are you able to sit up? I need to remove your shirt.” Marcus couldn’t help but to watch the other, running a hand through his messy curls. He still hadn’t taken off his jacket and it was starting to get hot.

Firiko nodded slightly at the first question, watching as he left and came back. Nervously he did try and sit up wincing as he was forced to move his wing so the rest of him could move. Carefully he fumbled with the buckle to the sheath of his sword, specially made so it went around his waist and over one shoulder, allowing the sheath itself to rest between his wings for easy access when flying. His shirt itself was buttoned at the back, a strip of cloth running between his wings, as two large holes had been cut for his wings.

group

(We are going for the soulmark right?)

Marcus smiled encouragingly, offering a hand to help the other. He flashed a charming smile, hoping to ease the other. “Need some help? I’ll set this sword on the coffee table in front of you. Will that make you more secure? Or if I tell you that if I try anything you can run that blade through me?”

(Yeah, I'm thinking it's on his upper shoulder.)
Firiko shook his head, "I-It's alright… why would you hurt me after helping me…" he said, butting reason out instead of trust, also aware of the fact that he had other ways of defense. Slowly he got the blade off, setting the curved blade beside him on the floor, wincing as he attempted to reach the buttons on his lower back to get the shirt off.

group

(Niice! What if Marcus’s was in the same place but on the other shoulder?)

Marcus smiled sweetly, moving over to gently take Firiko’s wrists in his hands and lowering them to his side. “Here, I’ll get them.” He huffed, trying to act like his normal tough self. But truth be told, he was starting to grow soft from the months of self care and freedom from the gang.

His fingers easily unbuttoned the last few and he left it up to Firiko to remove the shirt. “I might have an old shirt you can borrow and I’ll wash this one. We will have to cut the back though, I have no wings.”

Firiko nodded shyly, chewing on his lip as he pulled it over his head and off his arms. The wound wasn't too deep, but it was long, though not much different then some of the other scars he had from fighting. Most of which seemed to be from wild animals of some type or another.

(Sounds perfect to me!)

Marcus studied a few scars, humming softly. He too had some pretty bad scars, he was glad to find someone else who did too. “Hold still.” He purred, wrapping the wound and grinning when he was done. “Tada! All fixed up. Now, let’s find a way to sling your wing…”

Marcus tried many different places, frowning when many didn’t work for the large feathery wings. He puffed up his cheeks and huffed. That was when he noticed the mark on Firiko’s shoulder. He froze, taking it in. “I-is that a soulmark?” He asked softly

Firiko glanced over, "Uhm.. y-yeah…" he said, wondering why the other had paused the way he did, his good wing having more or less wrapped around him out of shyness. The feather's in the area where feathers met skin rose a little in nervousness, a few more feathers puffing out.

(I found something awesome on pinterest)

group

(Ooh can I see?! And sorry I had to get my sister from school)

Marcus tied up the other wing, blushing furiously. He moved to stand in front of the other, removing his jacket and throwing off his shirt.

Along his arms were multiple self-inflicted burn marks, and long scars. Across his torso and abdomen were large scars that ranged from stab wounds to larger burn marks and small slashes. But upon his upper shoulder, opposite of Firiko’s, was the same mark. “Hey soulmate~” He purred, suddenly growing flirty now that he knew the other was probably gay to an extend.

Firiko blushed red, his feathers puffing out in surprise. "Y-you're my…" he stammered, surprised. He wasn't sure how to act now, his eyes locked on the other in a mixture of surprise, curiosity, and embarrassment.
