"No, you're not! What the heck was that?!" she asked, helping him sit on the couch and gesturing in the direction his editor had left.
"she read the first page and …cough….and hated it…"
Bridget felt like she'd been smacked. "Why?"
"Says it seemed…f-fake" He gets onto the couch trying to take deep breaths
"Calm down, calm down," she urged him.
He Sat there taking deep breaths trying to get his breathing normal again
She clasped his hands in hers. "Are you okay? Do you need anything?"
He shakes his head "N…Not yet…''
"Are you sure?"
he nods
"Are you positive?" She couldn't hold back her smile any longer.
"I'm positive." he said finally cathing a breath
"Alright," she said, opening her laptop. "Not even a new editor?"
he shook his head. "I can find one easily. I'm just…not in the mood right now"
"I have sources," Bridget said, typing on her computer as she spoke.
"I'm good" He looks at the papers that were thrown on the floor and sighs
Bridget noticed his gaze and bend over to pick them up. "This story," she said, "is great. You are not giving up on it because of one lousy editor's opinion."
"I just…Don't see the point in writing anymore…"
Bridget's jaw dropped. "Why? You're writing is amazing! You just need better sources!"
"I'm going to take a break. then maybe I'll pick it back up later" he coughed but not badly
"How long will said break be?" she asked worriedly.
"At least a month at most. My breaks aren't very long"
"Alright," she reluctantly sighed. "Is there anything that you need?"
" Just some rest…"
"So, I should leave then?" she asked, trying to read his facial features.
he shook his head "please don't……"
"Alright," she said, opening up her laptop.
He took the papers and sat them down on the table
Bridget sighed and took off her glasses. She tossed them beside her laptop, which she picked up and began typing extremely fast.
