"Hey, watch where you're going!", August yelled sharply at the boy.

"Get a room!" the boy snapped back.
Kate glared after him and walked back to August. "People…" she muttered darkly.
"I guess we will.", he said acidly. "Feel like coming to my apartment?"
Kate perked up at this. “I’d love to!”
"Awesome!" They got on the bus and planned to stop at his apartment.
Kate stayed close to him the whole time, usually resting her head on his shoulder.
"We'll be there soon.", He reassured her.
"Okay," she replied into his arm. "I'm tired."
"We can sleep there…"
"Mmm… okay," she hummed.
The bus stopped at August's apartment complex. He got out of the bus and held out his hand to help Kate down the stairs.
Kate took his hand and walked down the stairs carefully. She smiled up at him. "Lead on, my sir."
He giggled and played along. "Certainly m'lady." The bus driver rolled his eyes.
Kate smiled happily and laced their fingers together.
They ran across the driveway and reached the door. August held it open for Kate.
"Thank you, my sir," Kate said, pausing for a brief curtsey on the top step.
"Your welcome!" August laughed and raced to get in the elevator before it closed.
"Hey!" Kate sprinted ahead and somehow beat him to it. "Ha!" she said, a wide grin on her face.
"You stepped on my foot!" August stepped on hers lightly. "Ha!"
"No, I didn't!" she protested.
August's foot throbbed. He hugged her. "It's fine. I got you back."
She rolled her eyes and cuddled against him. "Whatever…" she mumbled reluctantly.
August busied himself with pressing the elevator button. He was still a kid at heart and loved to press the buttons.
Kate smiled. "I love you…"
He giggled. "I love you too!"
"I love you more."
"Than what?", He asked dumbly.
She giggled at his response. "I love you, silly."
The elevator opened. "I love you more.", he mimicked and laughed.
"Than what?" she mimicked him, stepping out of the elevator.
