Miles fluffed his hair as he lied there in bed, waiting for Emmeline to come back. “Don’t die… now what makes her think I’ll stab myself while I’m in here?” He muttered, stifling out a laugh. And there’s no way in hell that I’m letting someone else do it for me.
Cloak and Dagger (O/O)
She continued to wander around the town, seeing the girl from before but staying a good distance away as she looked at a different stand with fruit and vegetables. Emmeline was aware that the girl was lose but she didn't say anything to make her even glance in her direction.
Miles rolled around as he attempted to het some sleep in like he did earlier, but his mindset was totally altered since he was back to being a human, and he gave up.
Jeez…. I think I should try to get out a bit more…
She eventually moved on from that area, discovering a small library. She didn't know how to read since she wasn't taught, but just looking at the books was interesting to her. "Maybe Miles knows how to read.." She mumbled, pulling out a small and very worn book. The symbols confused her, besides the few words that she knew, like 'money' and 'thief'.
(Are you saying she doesn't even have a basic level of education???)
Miles got up and paced around, glancing out the window every so often. I hope she doesn't stay out too long….
(She has a very basic education and she can read a little (that book was also quite advanced) but she was never taught how to fully read since her parents and other family members didn't think that was as important when she could be cooking and cleaning instead)
Emmeline bit her lip and then put the book back, heading out of the library and back to the inn. She hummed softly to herself as she walked, a small bounce in her step that showed that she was happy.
(Ah okey :3)
Miles was still looking out the window, over the market. I don't know if I can ever go back there… He spotted the girl in no time, glancing around and looking for him, he was sure. Or maybe Emmeline. I just hope she doesn't become stalkerish… He muttered, pacing away from the window.
Eventually she made her way back to the inn, giving the girl in the market quite a lot of space. She knocked on the door of their room and then stepped in, "Miles? I'm back." She said with a smile.
"Oh! Hey Emmeline. Did you find anything?" He asked, sitting on her bed. "I mean…. Find anything interesting…."
"I saw some things that were interesting, but I didn't find anything useful." She walked to her bed and sat down beside him, "I didn't see any pans or anything for cooking either.."
He furrowed his brow. "Ah…. That's alright. Maybe we can look elsewhere…" He flopped back, hanging his knees off the edge of the bed. "I was hoping I could cook with anything besides a stick…"
She looked over at him, "That would be nice," She said, swinging her legs as she looked around the room, "What did you do while I was gone?"
"Legitimately nothing… Just… Trying to entertain myself…" He mumbled, closing his eyes.
Emmeline nodded and smiled softly, humming to herself, "Are you going to fall asleep?" She asked, giving him a sideways glance, "You look quite comfy there."
He chuckled in a deep, rich voice. "Well… I've been trying to, but it ain't working too well…" Miles shifted. "I guess it's because I had a mindset change… As a wolf, I can practically sleep when I want, but now, that isn't the case."
"How do you usually get yourself to fall asleep once you change back to a human from a wolf?" She asked, "Is there anything I can do to help you fall asleep?" She continued swinging her legs as she looked over at him.
Miles almost broke out laughing. "It's not that I can't sleep at all whatsoever," He began, "It's just that it gets harder to sleep during the day since… Well… I'm human. And humans are awake during the day. And wolves can sleep any time they want. So… There isn't really anything anyone can do."
She felt her face heat up and she looked away, nodding slightly, "Alright, I don't know anything about werewolves, so just ignore that question.."
"It's alright," Miles patted her hand. "Not everyone knows a lot about us. Or me, or whatever. But it's always worth asking."
"Do you only eat meat when you're in your wolf form? Or do you eat plants too?" She asked as the question came to mind, "You don't have to answer, but it just came to mind and I'm curious."
"Meat…. If I can. However, plants are an absolute absolute last resort…" Miles let out a sigh. "I mean… Even I'll try to find birds or anything to have meat… Even if it means plucking the feathers from between my teeth…" He grumbled, glaring at the ceiling and then Emmeline.
"Alright, I'll stop pestering you now." She rubbed her eyes and sighed, flopping backwards on her bed as well, "I want to take a nap right now, you want to move?"
Miles chuckled. "I was here first… What makes you think this is your bed?" I'm just joking with her… Let's see how much she can take….
She sighed and rolled her eyes, "You claimed the other bed, now, can I take a nap?" She sat up and did her best to scowl menacingly at him, which didn't work as well as she planned.
"Just because I sat on it doesn't mean I claimed it," Miles mumbled. "If you want to take a nap, then you can use the other bed."
"Or I could go like this instead." She flopped over top of him, her stomach over his and her head just barely touching the pillow on the other side of the bed.
Miles flinched, barely getting the wind knocked out of him as he stifled a laugh. "Fine. If you want to be that way, then I won't stop you – I'm staying right where I am." He grunted, crossing his legs that were dangling over the side of the bed.
"You won't move, so I'm improvising." She mumbled, rolling onto her side and closing her eyes, "You realise that once I fall asleep you won't be able to move, right?" She continued.
"Sure," He shrugged. She's so funny to think I can't just lift her off me… "Doesn't matter."
"Good.." She murmured, drifting off to sleep. She rolled onto her stomach and snuggled close to him, happy for the body heat since she didn't have the blanket over here.
