She paused, and when she spoke, her voice sounded a bit small. "What are we going to do over breaks?"
“Shit…I didn’t think about that. Well we could just not go home and hang out. At least for the shorter ones…”
Rook shut the fridge door and came over, leaning against the counter next to L. "God, I don't even have anywhere to go during the summer. Maybe I'll get an apartment in town, and you could come stay if you wanted."
“Ooh that’d be fun. I’d have to go home sometimes though. Just to piss some people off and check on the ones that I actually care about.”
"Of course. I' just be there every time you needed to get away, y'know?"
“I appreciate it babe. Honestly I don’t give a crap about most of my ‘family’ anyway, they’re mostly jerks….but someday I’m gonna take over and hopefully make things better.”
She looked over at her and smiled. "You're gonna be the best Alpha those jackasses have ever seen."
“Thanks babe. Mostly I’m just looking forward to taking down that dick once and for all….I wonder if anyone will actually be dumb enough to try and fight back after I kill him…” she momentarily fell silent.
"Just tell me who, and I can help with the murders."
“……doesn’t it just seem wrong? Having to kill the old leader to become the new one?” She sighed, her gaze darkening.
Rook nodded. "It does seem a bit…barbaric almost? There are bad people, and then there are bad leaders, and the two aren't always the same." She reached for L's hand. "Maybe you could do something about that."
“Yeah….maybe……..” she just took her hand and sat there quietly.
"A lotta maybes to deal with." She said quietly, slipping into silence.
She just nodded, leaning her head on Rook’s shoulder.

“True. I still demand being carried though”
She rolled her eyes. "Piggy back or bridal."

"Well neither are very convenient 'cause I'm short, but let's go with bridal." Rook grinned, picking L up easily. "I could get used to this."
She chuckled and wrapped her arms around her neck.
Her cheeks darkened a bit as she headed to the door. "So where to, m'lady."
“Mmmm how many classes do we have left today?”
"Three maybe?"
“Ughhhhh what’s next anyway?”
"That fitness training type class, the the one where they teach you how to kick ass in a socially acceptable way. We have about ten minutes till the class before it lets out."
