Amber smiled across at him, taking his hand in hers once more. "I'm so glad we bumped into each other this morning," she whispered, her eyes sparkling happily.

William linked their fingers together before pressing her hand to his mouth.

“I am, too,” he murmured. “I always knew we were going to meet again. One day or another, I knew I was going to get you back.”

Amber's smile widened, and she pulled his hand closer so she could press a kiss to his palm as well. "I had hoped so. If we hadn't, I would have been miserable. Life without you was hard, but I understand why you had to leave."

“I’m thankful you understand,” he murmured. “You’re my home. I knew I would eventually go back to you.”

Amber hummed and pulled herself from her seat. She crossed to the other side, sliding in beside him. With a contented sigh, she rested her head on his shoulder. "In glad I have my favorite person back…"

William wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to himself. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

“I’m never going to leave you,” he promised. “Never again.”

“Good,” Amber murmured as she leaned into him further. “And I’m never leaving you. Not if I have a choice.”

“Good…” he said, closing his eyes as she leaned into him. “Thank you for waiting, Blue…”

Amber hummed and reached up to kiss his cheek gently. “I’ll always wait for you, Will. Always,” she promised softly.

"You don't have to anymore," William reminded her. "I'm here now, and I'm never going away. You're stuck with me now."

Amber chuckled, playfully poking him in the side. “Well, I mean, I do have an apartment, so you can’t kidnap me all the time. Just most of the time,” she joked.

William jabbed her in the side, a wicked grin forming on his face. He remembered how much ticklish she was. "I'll take you hostage at your own home," he declared, poking her again.

“Hey!” Amber exclaimed, jumping away from him with a glare. “Do you still live on campus? Or did you move?”

William laughed, pulling her back into his arms. He nuzzled her neck. "I moved. I got my own apartment when I graduated."

“That’s good. I’m glad you did,” Amber hummed, poking him in the stomach. “Where do you work now?”

"I'm an intern at Cyber Incorporation," William grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips. "I majored in Computer Science, so… I work there."

Amber shifted her hand in his grip and twisted their fingers together. “Have you done anything with your music?” she wondered.

"I haven't," William admitted, looking at their linked fingers. "I do play, though. I haven't stopped."

“Good. You’re too good to stop making music. Maybe… maybe we could do something together sometime,” Amber mused softly.

“Maybe we could,” William agreed, looking at Amber, tilting his head to the side. “I guess my temper did come to some good use, huh?”

Amber chuckled a bit and reached up to kiss his cheek. “I guess it did, huh? That’s one thing I’m thankful for.”

“I missed your singing in the shower,” William told her, leaning against her and closing his eyes just as the waiter came by with their food. “Without you, everything just felt… empty.”

Amber thanked the waiter before he left, pulling her food toward herself. “I know what you mean. It was so quiet without your violin playing at odd hours of the day.”

William pulled himself off of her, grabbing his food and setting it in front of him. “I always wondered if it bothered you the first few weeks. My playing, I mean. I played every time I felt the spark of anger.”

“No, I liked it, honestly. You played well, sometimes even putting me to sleep with it. It was especially nice when I was… uh, when I was getting over Jace,” Amber mumbled before lifting a forkful of food to her lips.

“Did it, now?” A smirk made its way to his lips. “No wonder you never said anything about it. To be honest, those times I mostly played for you. When you were getting over Jace, I mean.”

Amber hummed and gave him a small smile, nudging him lovingly. “Did you? I thought you still hated me then. I had no idea you were falling for me,” she teased.

William snorted, taking a spoonful of his rice. “I still disliked you back then. A little, I guess, but I was addicted to your pretty little mouth. And you were destroying yourself. And I guess I had started falling for you back then.”

Amber smirked at his words. Addicted to her. He’d been addicted to her, even if it was just her mouth. And now she could tell that he was still addicted to her, and that now it was much more than that. And she loved it.

“I was falling for you, too, Will. I couldn’t get enough of you, no matter how many times I kissed you or you kissed me,” she admitted softly, taking another bite of her food.

Now it was William’s turn to smirk. He looked at her with a deep intensity, eyes raking over her body, licking his lips just to tease her.

“Of course. You did say I was an amazing kisser. If you hadn’t kissed me that night, I probably would have done so myself,” he picked up his spoon to take another bite. “Since that day, though, anyone saying ‘thank you’ reminds me of our little moments. Maybe we should bring that back again.”
