When they reached the kitchen, Juliet pulled a chair out and gestured for the knight to sit in it. She gathered a few supplies from the cupboards before making her way back to him.

“You may need to remove your armor so that I can make sure you are not hurt elsewhere,” she said, glancing over him as she double checked for injuries that she would be able to see.

Cormac say heavily, breath8ng a deep sigh of relief as his weight forgot eased off of his injury. He nodded and took off the heavy metal breastplate, slipped off the metal boot-like pieces and sat them down. He caught his breath once the pieces were removed, leaning back in the chair with his breath rasping in his throat.

“It doesn’t look like there’s anything more than your hand and face,” Juliet murmured after inspecting him some. She moved to a table and grabbed a wet, gray cloth, then walked back over to the knight. “What is your name, Knight?”

Cormac sniffled up some snot and wiped at it idly. “My name is Cormac. Thank you for asking. What is your name, my lady?” He looked up, tilting his head.

“Juliet,” the beastess answered plainly. She held the cloth up and nodded toward it. “I am just going to wipe the blood from your face and hand, now.”

Cormac rose his chin a little and nodded, setting his hand on his leg. “Okay. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”

“It’s all right. Don’t worry. I wasn’t doing much today, anyway,” Juliet murmured as she leaned closer and started to wipe gently at his wounds.

Cormac shut his eyes a little as she wiped off his face, curling his hands up carefully on his lap.
“Where will I go after this, my lady?”

Juliet shrugged, then realized he couldn’t see her with his eyes closed. “I do not know. You may stay here until your wounds are healed, or you may try to find your way back home. That is up to you.”

Cormac sighed softly and flitted open his eyes when the rag scraped across a wound. “I think it’s pointless to try and get myself back home. After all, those wolves might attacking again and I don’t have my horse.”

Juliet muttered a soft “sorry” when his eyes flickered open. She finished up with his face and took a step back.

“That’s probably a good idea,” she mused as she looked over his face, double checking for anything she might have missed. When she had assured herself that she hadn’t, she nodded once and met Cormac’s eyes. “Would you mind giving me your hand so I can clean it up?”

Cormac shruggednoff her apology and rose his gaze to meet hers as she pulled away. His gray eyes were hidden in carefull-trained emptiness.
“Sure.” He hmorning led up his stiff hand, wincing slightly.

Juliet found a clean spot on the rag and gently took his hand in her giant paw. She wiped away the blood as best she could, making sure to hurt him as little as possible.

“What were you even doing in the woods, anyway?” she asked, her voice at a murmur from concentrating on coordinating her paws.

Cormac blinked at how massive her paw was to his hand. He was told he had huge hands, but her paws were huge compared to his.
“Oh. I got a calling to go out and try to scare off those wolves.”

Juliet snorted and shoot her large head. “That was stupid. Those wolves are nothing but hungry, bloodthirsty bea— animals… Good luck trying to scare them off.”

Cormac turned his gaze up when she shook her mighty head. “That’s what I tired to tell them. It didn’t exactly work, though….”

“Well, now you can go back and tell them that you were almost eaten alive be rabid wolves. They should let you be, now,” Juliet sighed as she finished on his hand. “I am done. Let me go get bandages to wrap your hand up.”

“Okay, thank you, my lady. And they son’t listen to me. They always send me on the most dangerous missions…” He sighed. “Being head knight is a pain, really. I wish they’d just let me be.”

Juliet hummed her acknowledgement to his statement, but the sound came out as more of a rumble in her throat that sounded almost like a growl. She made a face when she had turned around and went to grab bandages from the table. Would this curse ever be broken?

Cormac’s eyes rounded slightly at her growl. “Oh? Are you upset?” He sat ups slightly, watching her with interest. “Is there something wrong? Did I say something?”

(What in the world is in your name now?)

Juliet sighed and shook her head again as she turned back to him with the bandages in her paws. “No. I forget what I sound like sometimes, that is all. This isn’t my original form, you know…”

(Lmaoooo)

Cormac blinked, “oh”ing softly again. “Welll… would you like to tell me the tale of how you got that way?” In risk of making you more upset?

(Really, though. Lol. I have no idea what that even means…)

Juliet blinked and glanced up at him from his hand, which she had begun to wrap. She paused for a moment, looking thoughtful.

“It’s a long story…” she said, meeting his eyes. “Are you sure you’d want to hear it?”

(If you don’t know it, you don’t know it, lol)

Cormac met her gaze unsurely, then nodded. “I would appreciate it. I would enjoy a nice tale, too. Well, nice being… never mind. Sorry.”

Juliet sighed as she leaned against a table, having just finished her story. She looked away from the knight, avoiding meeting his gaze as she looked around the room. That was not a story she was proud of. Not at all…

The knight swallowed slowly, looking down at his lap. “I… and to break the curse, my lady?” The knight asked gently, sneaking another glance at the beastess, who looked most uncomfortable and upset. No wonder…

Juliet snapped her attention back toward Cormac, her stance rigid and tense. She sighed through her nose and looked up at the ceiling before she spoke.

“There is only one way to break the curse… I must fall in love, and the person I love must love me back,” she explained quietly, refusing to meet his gaze once more.

Cormac suddenly sat up with her, hearing his back pop in multiple locations. He sinned lightly but let it go.
“It can’t be that hard, m’lady,” The knight responded softly with a tiny smile. “You still look very beautiful.”
